Review for Her Hearts Desire

Title: Her Hearts Desire
Author: Lauren Wilder

Description: When Marisa applies for a PA job to an English aristocrat, she expects a stuffy, older gentleman. James St John is anything but. He is an extremely good-looking thirtysomething English charmer. Sparks fly, and the attraction is intense.
Marisa, recently heartbroken, fights her desire, cautious about becoming involved with her boss. But James St John is unable to resist the sexual allure between them, and he will not rest until she is in his bed. Marisa soon discovers that Highcroft house hides a hotbed of sin and dark longings. Will its secrets destroy her happiness when love starts to bloom?

Summary: Marisa leaves work early to surprise her boyfriend for his birthday. What she walked in on was a surprise on her, as she caught him with her friend. Heartbroken, she interviews for a job, with a Lord of all things, to be a Personal Assistant in England. The chemistry between them is instant, and as soon as Marisa is in England, her feelings start to grow, but so do those of the  Lord, James. Marisa witnesses some things she is rather embarrassed about, and also forms a close bond to James children. James is fighting the chemistry and his feelings for Marisa and finds out his brother wants to take her on a date. Which causes James to take the chance, and gets Marisa to go with him. Soon, not only are they exploring London,  but also his private room and their pleasure.

My Thoughts: Lauren Wilder, new on the writing scene, has a winner in this book. She is descriptive and paints the picture of the places she is describing so you can visualize it. The story starts strong and has you sympathizing and really relating to Marisa.I loved the build up and anticipation of when are they finally going to make the move. Their love is sensual, sexy, and tender. Add a cheating sexual deviant of a brother in law who comes onto her, a crazed woman lusting after James, and you have a tail filled with intrigue. I can't wait to see what Wilder will write next.
