********* INTERVIEW *********
United By Books is pleased to have BELLA ROSS on the blog today so we can learn more about her amazing books........

1 ~ Can you please share with us a little about yourself?

Well in my previous career incarnation, I owned two businesses, hosted a syndicated radio show, lectured professionally and about three years ago walked away from it all. My life had become unbalanced, too much work and not enough play. I think we all get to this point eventually – what am I doing all this for? Am I happy? If not, what will make me happy? Back in the day writing is what I originally wanted to puruse, but as the saying goes “you have your plans and life has its plans and yours doesn’t count.”

2 ~ Please tell us a little about your newest release ?

My newest release ‘Confession in Vegas’ is about a moment in time when a confession is made, right out of the blue, from left field, never saw it coming, which can leave anyone speechless, confused and totally bewildered. Such a scenario lands at Jenna Harper’s feet and now she has to grapple with such a fateful moment. Not only that, but the one who makes the confession is none other than Billionaire Thorne Hamilton, and this folks, totally blows Jenna’s mind. Will his confession tempt her to put everything on the line? Well, only those who’ve read it know the answer…

3~ Would you like to share an excerpt with us today?

Would love to!

Confession in Vegas – Excerpt

Thorne Hamilton stepped into the grand ballroom of his Las Vegas hotel, and like a magnet, all eyes were upon him. He had money, charisma, and power. It all showed. He was thirty nine years old and he had the world by the balls.

Wherever he went, intrigue and curiosity followed. Being one of the wealthiest and most eligible bachelors in the world, attention of every kind was expected. Whether good or bad, effortlessly it flowed. He wished the bad kind would take a long sabbatical and let him be. But no such luck there. Wealth was a magnet for the unscrupulous, and over the years, he’d grown accustomed to the shenanigans of people and media alike. Not to mention the opposite sex. It made him weary, not of women per se, but of their intentions.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, exercising caution when indulging his libido was key. It kept him out of the headlines. With so much at stake, namely his image and reputation, carelessness was not an option. Choosing the right woman, at the right time, for the right reason was essential. And like a business deal, it had to be on his terms. Since he wasn’t interested in a prolonged affair, many accepted the rules of engagement simply out of the desire to be with him. This suited him perfectly. It kept that part of his life uncomplicated. With his mental and emotional faculties in the clear, it allowed for more focus and concentration on the business which he loved with a passion.

As the preeminent developer of luxury real estate, his work took him to remote and exotic places, where he built some of the world’s top resorts and casinos. His properties catered to the ultra wealthy, where they paid exorbitant amounts of money for seclusion and privacy.

Like them, he enjoyed his privacy too. He chose when and where he would avail himself to people, places and things. Frivolous socializing wasn’t his thing. Didn’t enjoy it one bit. So he would emerge out of his lair for professional reasons only.

Being a man of the world, he knew the fundraisers, dinner parties and special events were good for business. It was always good to keep the brand in circulation. And if that meant he had to suffer through a few hours of superficial pleasantries, so be it. Business always came first. His decisions, personal and otherwise, revolved around what was best for Hamilton International Resorts and Casinos. And sometimes what was best was to forfeit his privacy and don his billionaire persona instead. In light of that, attending Jack Carter’s birthday bash tonight served that end.

As his gaze wandered lazily over the crowd, he couldn’t help but take note. The guest list was stellar. Jack hadn’t missed anyone of importance. It was a who’s who from the world of finance, entertainment, media and politics. The right mix of players with enough money to buy a small country. He recognized many of the faces gathered in the grand ballroom of his luxury hotel, Oro Vegas, a world class hotel, casino and apartment complex on the strip. And like its namesake, Oro was certified gold. The premiere choice for those with discerning tastes and hefty bank accounts.

Even though the scene before him felt more like a gala than a birthday party, it didn’t fail to impress. The tables gleamed with brilliantly polished silverware. Immaculately dressed waiters circulated with trays of champagne. Light from candles and chandeliers glinted off the women’s diamonds as the ladies mingled, admiring one another’s priceless gowns and no doubt swapping stories about their children, diets, shopping and god knew what else. The music by a string quartet stationed at the opposite end soothed and enchanted. An elaborate ten tier birthday cake of white chocolate in the center of the dance floor commanded the room like a Michelangelo masterpiece. And soon, from what he’d been told, Oro’s resident DJ Ace Knight who would take over and kick this elegant birthday bash into high gear – Vegas style.

It was just like Jack to be over the top, he mused. The size of the man’s ego was hard to miss. His self importance evident everywhere, especially in the lavish details. His wealth unquestionable. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind just who Jack Carter was.

Belinda, the event director for Oro, had planned the party exactly to Jack’s specifications and she’d done a bang up job from the looks of it. She was worth every penny that he paid her. He would make sure to compliment her efforts the next time he saw her.

As his gaze continued to wander every which way, it finally settled on a young woman talking to Jack Carter’s wife, the hostess to this over the top shindig. He studied the young woman for a moment, as certain possibilities flitted through his mind, and waited for his instincts to kick in. He needed to feel the pull in his gut. As if sensing his appraisal, the young woman suddenly turned and locked eyes with him. He was taken aback. The look in them told him she was trouble.

“Not your type.”

Turning his head to the side, he acknowledged Kevin Warner, his right hand man and good friend standing beside him. Disapproval evident in his tone and manner.

“Is that so?” he said, sounding amused.

“I know your type man, and she doesn’t even come close.”

Thorne grinned. Kevin was one of the few people on the planet who knew his tastes and preferences on practically everything, including women. There was nothing that Kevin wasn’t privy to. The man was more like a brother than a friend, more a confidante than an employee. Their relationship may have started out as business but over the years had grown into a deep friendship. His loyalty Thorne appreciated, his honesty he highly valued. There was no one else that Thorne trusted more than Kevin.

“I suppose you’re right,” Thorne agreed.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll find someone tonight,” Kevin reassured. “By the way, before I forget, Adam Wilson is here. Thought you should know.”

The name had Thorne calmly looking around. “Where? Have you talked to him yet?”

“No. I wanted to run something by you first. I think we should approach him again about the Fiji deal. I can’t think of a better time to do it than tonight. I’m sure I can finally convince him to come aboard as an investor. What do you think?”

Thorne thought for a moment. “If you can pull it off, then yeah, go for it.”

“Excellent,” he replied, sounding pleased. “Well, I’d better get on the move.”

With Kevin off to conduct business, Thorne quickly retreated to the far side of the room. He stood back and observed the goings-on at the party.

With a final sweep of the room, he noticed the man of the hour across the dance floor performing his hosting duties without a ripple. Thorne watched him exchange a quick word, a smile, a kiss to the hand and laugh at a joke as he weaved in and around the guests with effortless ease. Only a lifetime of experience could do that. It was one of the many things they shared in common.

And despite all his flamboyance and extravagance, Jack Carter was one of the most respected businessmen in the world. And for that, Thorne had made an exception to put in an appearance. Otherwise he and Kevin would’ve been overseas tackling the details of their latest development, a fifty thousand square foot hotel complex in Morocco. But business, he’d decided, could wait for one night.

With his usual panther like gate, he began to move. It was time to mingle and grab a drink. He moved through the crowd greeting those he knew, making small talk, exchanging pleasantries and being mysteriously charming. Women fawned all over him, and a few propositioned him as he made his way to the bar. He was a magnate for such things. He knew he could sleep with any woman in the room, married or single, if he so desired. Women didn’t need much coaxing to open their legs for him, and he knew it.

“Macallan 25, neat,” he said, signaling the bartender. He scanned the faces of the women and waited for a pull.

Which one of them was going to attract him tonight?

Then he saw her. And his instincts kicked in. He felt the pull. As always.

Jenna Harper.

4~ What's in store next for your readers?

What’s next is ‘Deception in Geneva’ my fourth release which will be coming out shortly. It’s a mixture of suspense/a touch of the paranormal/erotic romance. The two characters Zane (mercenary) & Chloe (psychic spy) are quite a pair, both are intense and fearless. What unravels between them is quite dramatic and exciting.

5~ What's the weirdest thing you've ever done in the name of research?

Actually so far no research has been needed.

6~ What are some of your favorite kinds of stories to read?

Anything that involves an intense connection whether the genre is suspense, erotic, or paranormal, etc., it doesn’t matter.

7~ What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I meditate. I have deep fascination for metaphysical subjects. I love to salsa.

8~ Do you sing and dance around the house while picking up?

Not really.

9~ Describe yourself in three words?

Organized. Focused. Creative.

10~ What is the most embarrassing thing you got caught doing?

I can’t think of anything right now. Sorry.

11~ How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?

With family and a bottle of champagne.

12~ What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?

I would say love scenes – I think many people believe it might easy to do – but its not. There really has to be a flow, a sequence, a build-up – I think that’s what makes a scene pop and click with readers.

13~ Is there anything special you would like to say to your readers while we have you here today?

I just want to thank every single one of you for your support, for someone just starting out, it MEANS A LOT!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Bella Ross is a writer with many passions, two of which are writing and travelling. She wrote her first book (a novel) at eighteen a la Jackie Collins. But back then, unbeknownst to her, life was about to take her on a detour. As she set off on her new course, her dream of writing took a backseat and herentrepreneurial spirit flourished instead. But after many years of worldly pursuits, the urge to write returned and the time was right to follow her bliss.
She believes it's never too late to follow your dreams/bliss.
Her books/stories are her first attempt at erotic romance. She loves the genre and its endless creative possibilities. She likes pairing bold and dynamic (Alpha) men with sexy and strong women – which in her opinion - make for a hot and sizzling combination. With her love of travel, it is no surprise that her stories take place in glamorous capitals or exotic locales around the world. It's the perfect backdrop/setting for her characters to explore and indulge their lusts and passions, loves and desires.
When she’s not writing, she’s reading, or gallivanting all over seeking new inspiration, or people watching while enjoying a latte at Starbucks and jotting down ideas.
She loves to hear from readers, and looks forward to interacting through her various social media channels. You can also sign up for Bella Mail to be notified about new releases and promotional offers.

******** INTERVIEW ********
United By Books is pleased to have Tmonique Stephenson the blog today so we can learn more about her amazing books........

1 ~ Can you please share with us a little about yourself?

I was born in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, and moved to New York City when I was two years old.Currently, I live in Jacksonville, Florida. It’s nothing like New York, but after thirteen years, it is my home.

2 ~  Please tell us a little about your newest release ?

Everlasting is the second novel in my Descendant of Ra series. Reign Nicolis bargains with goddess of the dead for his freedom to save his twin Roman Nicolis. Unfortunately, his soul attaches to Alexis Lever.
Detective Alexis Lever’s career is imploding and arresting Roman Nicolis is the only way to save it.

3~  Would you like to share an excerpt with us today?

“I have been with you for many days and could have killed you a dozen times, but I did not.” Reign crowded Alexis until her back was against a wall and her gun was pressed into the center of his chest. His face was the only thing she saw. Her breath caught. Her insides fluttered.
“Do you wish me harm, Alexis? If you do, your weapon will achieve nothing. I do not know if my sword will achieve anything, but I dare say you would have better luck with my blade than with your gun.”  The word rolled off his tongue like a sensual sigh. She lowered her weapon and shoved it back into the holster.
Hilt first, he handed the sword to her and waited until she had a strong grip before releasing his hold. It pulled her down and thunked into the carpet. She tried to lift it, but couldn’t. Reign smirked and sat on the sofa while she dragged the blade—cutting a slice in the faded carpet—to the chair. Well-polished and honed to a sharp edge, the sword glinted as she traced a finger over the intricate design. The cold metal tantalized as she imagined him wielding above his head while he charged onto a battlefield. The image was terrifying…and erotic.
Braided leather wrapped around the handle and scroll characters traveled down the blade. No, not characters, hieroglyphics. “Do you know what this says?” She stroked the metal. Puzzlement crossed his featured, then a dawning awareness. She thought he was about to lie and say no. Instead, he nodded.
He stumbled over the pronunciations a few times before speaking. “‘I am the bringer. Face me and be judged’. I have never read Egyptian before.”
“How’d you end up cursed in Egypt?” Instead of answering, he looked away. Okay. Next question. “Why does the tether hold you here?”
His gaze swung back to her. “The Vanquished. When they come and I can no longer function.”
“Who’s the Vanquished?”
“Conquered warriors haunting my soul. They are my penance, my tormentors. The only peace I find is when I’m within one hundred feet of the one who balances my soul. You are that person.”
She was about to say she didn’t want to be that personwhen his gaze turned sultry, swept across her face, down the column of her throat and rested on her breasts. An internal switch flipped and she flushed. Her fingers stroked down the blade as images of him—of them—entwined and doing things she dreamed about flickered in her head. The positions, the thrusts, the licks, and touches. Orgasms after orgasms. She, crying out his name.
His gaze roasted her. Those oceany eyes kissed her lips, caressed her breasts, slid down her body and settled between her thighs where she ached. Her finger slipped on the metal and blood ran freely. The sharp sting seared all lustful thoughts away. Instantly, he kneeled in front of her and grabbed her wrist. She tried to jerk away, but he held her firmly, his thumb pressed hard on the wound.
“Apologies, your injury is my responsibility. I never should have let you—”
“It’s okay. It’s not that bad.”
“It is. My nearness keeps causing you injury. That, I cannot allow.” His eyes blazed full of anguish.
Strands of his long hair swept across his face, partially hiding his expression. Alexis brushed the wayward locks away. She skimmed her palm down his sculpted cheek and through his short beard. His eyes widened and…he stopped breathing. Amazed that she had actually caused a man to stop breathing at her mere touch, Alexis leaned in for a taste, that’s all she promised. One kiss to settle the heat stirring in her blood.
Centimeters away from his lips, she paused, then drew away.
There’s a reason you're celibate, Alexis. Too many relationships had soured quick and left her swearing off men for the past year. But if there was ever a reason to end her diet,Reign was it.
He waited. Not a muscle betrayed his emotions, yet a vein pulsed wildly at the base of his neck.
But he lied.
What if you approach this logically? You want him. Your panties are sticking to you, you want him so bad. So have him. Leave your heart out of it. Hell, men do it. You can do it too. Screw him, let him work all your kinks out. Just don’t fall in love with him so when the shit hits the fan—
I won't be the one cut by the blades.
She pressed her lips to his.
Holy hell! Nothing had ever tasted so delicious, felt as delightful as his firm lips slanted across her mouth. His whiskers gently brushed her skin, heightening her senses. His scent, woodsy with a hint of musk, filled her lungs. She leaned into him, parted her lips, and licked the seam of his closed mouth. He shuddered and his lips parted. His tongue darted inside her mouth and ignited her blood.
He wanted her. She didn’t just feel in it in his touch, but knew it as if she were peeking into his soul.
They yanked apart, she panting while Reign inhaled sharply and exhaled deliberately. His pecs heaved as his gaze devoured her. Nothing made sense, not the heat surfing through her body or the hunger gnawing at her soul. Kissing Reign erased the presence of every man who had ever touched her. Flustered, she glanced down and saw her finger still pressed between his.
He released her. She wiped away the smear of blood and found perfect new skin. “Okay, so how did you do that?” She held up the healed digit to his puzzled stare.
“I do not know.” His gaze shifted away.
He’s lying. Disappointment dissolved the lingering taste of him.Wow, that didn’t take long.

4~ What's in store next for your next project?

I’m working on EVERMORE, the third novel and my Descendants of Ra series. It is Avery Nicolis’s story. I don’t want to give too much away, but the scars he has on the outside of his body mask the scars he’s carrying on the inside. I’m also working on a contemporary revenge series that will be out next year. There’s nothing better than a scorned woman getting her revenge.

5~ What's the weirdest thing you've ever done in the name of research?

I work on a naval base with lots of young military men. I love making them blush with my intimate questions about the games they play on unsuspecting females. If you get them alone they will answer any questions, but if they’re in a group, testosterone takes over and you may not get a truthful answer.

6~ What are some of your favorite kinds of stories to read?

I love paranormal romance. My favorite authors are Karen Moning, JR Ward, and I've just discovered GenaShowalter. I also love horror and to get my fix, I go to Stephen King, the master. He terrifies me.

7~ What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

At my day job, I am a Mammographer. I take care of women with breast health issues. I have been doing my job for the past 20 years and I find it very satisfying.

8~  Do you sing and dance around the house while picking up?

I hate chores. I only clean when I have to. I much prefer writing, but I don’t want to become an episode of Hoarders.

9~ Describe yourself in three words?

 Loyal, sarcastic, and witty.

10~ What is the most embarrassing thing you got caught doing?

Once, at a quiet moment, I farted in church. It was not quiet and it stunk. And I couldn't deny it was me.

11~ How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?

I celebrated with screams and lots of wine. I waited four years for that moment and I completely enjoyed it.

12~ What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?

I find it hard to write love scenes and fight scenes. Both scenes have to be choreographed, a ballet of limbs and body parts. It takes patience and forethought to get it right, and when you do get it right, it’s epic.

13~ Is there anything special you would like to say to your readers while we have you here today?

I would like to say thank you for stopping by and please visit my website www.TmoniqueStephens.com for updates on future projects.
