Witch Bound Blog Tour ~ Interview and Giveaway With Eleri Stone

DEMON CROSSINGS
Twilight of the Gods, Book 1

Private investigator Grace tracks a kidnapped child to middle-of-nowhere Iowa. Encountering a strange creature she knows can’t be a local animal, she doesn’t need her psychic abilities to figure out the sleepy town is not what it seems. When she meets the intriguing Aiden, she’s plunged into a world of Norse gods and fire demons where the Wild Hunt still rides the night.

Aiden needs Grace’s help to cross the portal between worlds and rescue his daughter. Grace is unlike any woman he’s ever met. He’s drawn to her courage, distressed by her vulnerability and doubtful of her motives. But he knows that her visions are the key to defeating the enemy and bringing everyone home alive.

Grace wants a future with Aiden, even if it means she’ll never have a normal life. When a test run to the portal takes a terrifying turn, they must learn to finally trust each other or Aiden’s daughter, and their chance at love, will be lost forever…

******** INTERVIEW ********
United By Books is pleased to have ELERI STONE on the blog today so we can learn more about her amazing books........

1 ~ Can you please share with us a little about yourself?

Sure! I grew up in New Jersey and left to attend college in Iowa. I didn’t expect it to be a one way trip but I married my college sweetheart and three children later, we’re still here. I love the Midwest but someday I’d like to move back to the east coast to be closer to my family and the beach. I’m addicted to Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead (Daryl!), Dr. Who and Sherlock (BBC version). I drink too much coffee and I like to experiment with making healthy versions of unhealthy recipes. It doesn’t always work out well. One of my daughter’s friends is afraid to eat at our house after a bad flan experience.

2 ~  Please tell us a little about your newest release ?

Witch Bound is about a clan of Norse demigods living in middle America. The premise is that Ragnarök, the Norse apocalypse, happened centuries ago. The Æsir who survived fled Asgardand now their descendants keep the demons that destroyed their world from invading earth. In Witch Bound, the new clan witch, Raquel, comes to town to fulfill the contract on her arranged marriage to one of the huntsmen, Christian. Raquel expects that transition to be difficult. What she doesn’t expect is the vengeful demon set on destroying her new clan, a cranky old witch worried about losing her position, and a virgin shapeshifter named Fen who is absolutely the last man she should be falling for.

3~  Would you like to share an excerpt with us today?

I would love to! This is Raquel and Fen getting to know each other:

She dropped onto the couch and started to prop her feet on the table before jerking them back. She flushed. It was too easy to forget herself around Fen. Her manners flew right out the window. He hooked his hand under her knee before her foot hit the ground and pulled it back up. “What’s the point in keeping thirty-year-old furniture around if you can’t abuse it?”

“Are the gardening books your mom’s?”

“I don’t look like a gardener to you?”

His grin invited honesty. “You look nothing like a gardener.”

He looked like trouble. His tattoo peeked from beneath the sleeve an old T-shirt. He was still wearing shit-kicker boots and the worn-out jeans that suited him perfectly. He had the kind of body jeans were created for. Narrow hips and long, straight legs. He looked like a loner and an artist. He looked dangerous—and not to cabbage worms and squash bugs.

“It gets me outside, you know, when I’m not killing things.” He took a long pull from his bottle, but kept his eye on her.

“So you’re a nerd.”

He choked on his swallow. “You think I’m a nerd?”

“Afraid so.” She ticked off her fingers. “You live in your parent’s house.”

“I bought my parent’s house,” he corrected. “The housing market’s not the greatest here, you know.”

She held up a second finger. “You have enough computer equipment in here that I bet you’ll have to upgrade the electrical system soon...if you haven’t already.”

“Last year, before I moved in. It’s why I haven’t had the extra money to decorate.”

“You enjoy reading and gardening.” She paused. “Do you have a cat?”

He winced. “She’s a stray. Scared to death of me, but she keeps coming back for the food.”

“I’d be surprised if you could coax a cat into living with a hound.”

“Smart creatures, cats. So what’s the verdict?”

She wiggled her fingers and dropped her hand. She hadn’t made a five count, but she thought she’d made her point anyway. “Nerd. Even if you don’t look like one.”

“And what does a nerd look like exactly?”

Not sweet and sexy and dangerous.

“Different from you,” she said after a too-long pause, feeling suddenly that it wasn’t the best idea for her to have come here alone.

4~ What's in store next for your readers?

Right now, I’m working on a brand new historical paranormal romance series. The first book, Reaper’s Touch, is due to release Feb 3 and the second book just a few months later. It’s set in a sort of post-apocalyptic version of the Wild West. I’ve been calling it my cowboys vs zombies story.

5~ What's the weirdest thing you've ever done in the name of research?

I can’t really think of anything too strange actually. I need to be more creative in my research!

6~ What are some of your favorite kinds of stories to read?

I read in a lot of different genres—romance of all kinds, but also fantasy and horror. My favorite stories always have some supernatural aspect to them.

7~ What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I’m from a really big family. I’m the oldest of five and each of my parents had seven siblings. As of last count, I had 31 first cousins.

8~  Do you sing and dance around the house while picking up?

Yes!

9~ Describe yourself in three words?

Geek. Loyal. Friendly.

10~ What is the most embarrassing thing you got caught doing?

I once walked into a wall trying to discreetly check out a guy I liked. (In the interest of full disclosure, that’s not actually the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever been caught doing but it’s the most embarrassing thing I’m willing to share right now.)

11~ How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?

After I stopped jumping up and down? I think it went something like wine, dinner, panic attack.

12~ What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?

The transition scenes. They’re important but I always kind of want to fast forward to the conflict.

The transition
