Goddess Series Blog Tour ~ Guest Post and Giveaway with M.W. Muse

GODDESS LEGACY

Goddess Series, Book 1
Legacy Kore is an average seventeen year old with your basic insane crush on the hottest guy in school... rather Adin Shepard was the hottest guy in school before he graduated a couple of weeks ago. Now it’s summer vacation and she’s not sure when she’ll get to see him again. Until he shows up at her surprise seventeenth birthday party. Cue saliva glands--it’s time to drool.

But her giddiness is cut short when her guardian delivers an emotional blow, telling Legacy her mother hadn’t died when she was baby, but that she’d left for Legacy’s protection all those years ago. After the initial shock, she expects some story about how her mother was in the Witness Protection Program or something else just as crazy, but when she’s told that her mother is a Greek Goddess and that Legacy is changing into one too, she thinks her guardian needs a trip to a mental hospital. Legacy a goddess? Um, yeah. Right. And her BFF is the Easter Bunny.

While trying to make sense out of something that was impossible to believe, Adin asks Legacy out on a date. She is thrilled that her fantasy might become a reality, but when she meets the new guy in town, River, she discovers everything isn’t always as it seems, and the legacy she wants just might not be the legacy she is destined to have.

GODDESS SECRET

Goddess Series, Book 2
Legacy only thought she had this goddess thing under control. Well, as much as any other chick could have given the crazy circumstances. But when she learns the truth about her abilities, she is forced to keep a secret so powerful that she and the people closest to her could get hurt if it falls into the wrong hands.

Then there’s Venus, the goddess Adin is bonded to. And River, the god Legacy is bonded to. Do Legacy and Adin have a chance at a real relationship or are these external factors going to pull them apart? It won’t stop them from trying…or letting things heat up between them as they explore the boundaries of their relationship. Where’s the fun in just focusing on her ascension? Nothing wrong with having fun with her boyfriend.

As long as she keeps her secret…

GODDESS SACRIFICE

Goddess Series, Book 3
Legacy wouldn’t let a little thing like changing into a goddess distract her from the joys of her senior year in high school...or hanging with her friends. She enjoys the dances and parties and getting closer to Adin...even trying her hand at seducing him. She’s ready to take their relationship to the next level, regardless of any bond she might have with River and any bond Adin has with Venus.

But the prophecy is still there, lurking in the background. And while Legacy is wrapped up with living her life in the now, forces are at work solidifying her future. With the damage done and the full meaning of the prophecy exposed, she’ll be forced to face the consequences...and protecting those she loves compels her to make the greatest sacrifice.

GODDESS REVENGE

Goddess Series, Book 4
Hell hath no fury like a goddess scorned… at least that’s the way Legacy sees it. Her dreams collide into a message she did not want to acknowledge, but the implication ignites within her hotter than the knowledge of the betrayal itself. The only thing to do to cure getting mad? Getting even. And oh boy, she is going to get even!

Legacy dives into a betrayal of her own making as she teaches her lesson. But can she deliver her punishment without losing her true self in the process, or will the bitter feeling of keeping her enemy close backfire and propel her down a road she never dreamed she’d travel?

One thing’s for certain—revenge doesn’t come without a price.

GODDESS BARED

Goddess Series, Book 5
The consequences of her actions are too much. Legacy was warned what would happen, but she thought she could outsmart it. She was wrong. How can she pick up the pieces of her life when all she now has is a void existence? The life she wanted...gone. Her heart has been ripped out, leaving her soul bared. The prophecy she’s been battling from the beginning has finally come true. And everything hurts. She never dreamed facing her legacy would be this devastating.

Legacy has known all along that everything happens for a reason. She’s been told that from practically everybody. She must find the strength to reach the stage of acceptance and move on with her life. Gods, why did things have to be this way?

But learning to accept the truth might be easier than she thinks. Her life has been filled with warnings, and one of those is that not everything is as it seems. Maybe there’s a reason that warning had come from Adin...

******** GUEST POST ********
Hi, ya’ll! I want to thank the peeps with United by Books for having me here today. :) This is my first official tour celebrating the books in this series since I’ve been so busy trying to get these out as quickly as I can, so I’m going to make it worth your time to join in the fun.

Ahhh…being a teenager. I think most of us back then couldn’t wait to be older… and those who are older know they’d do things differently if they had the chance to live through those years again. I think the main time we think about is high school. I was fortunate, I guess. I went to a small-town high school. The school itself was small, and we didn’t have serious cliques. Sure we had groups, but we were intermingled and didn’t make people feel like they had to belong in any certain group. For example, I graduated in the top ten percent of my class, went to college on an academic scholarship, but was also captain of the drill team with long blonde hair and blue eyes. I was smart, but not the stereotypical geek. I didn’t drink or smoke, but I could be at a party where it was happening and not feel pressured. I knew people who used drugs, but I never did. *shrug* there was just no pressure. BUT I’d still do some things differently. I think that’s part of the appeal to reading Y/A or New Adult books. It gives us a chance to live vicariously through those characters.Young, passionate, and the whole world ahead of them. What’s not to love?

The Goddess Series follows Legacy from her Seventeenth birthday up to her eighteenth birthday, when her transition is complete and she’s suppose to officially ascend into her godly status. And it includes her senior year in high school. When everybody should be preparing for college, jobs, and general life-after-high-school changes while enjoying the fun that comes with finally becoming a senior, she must also deal with the mystery surrounding her change. What’s a little teenage angst when she’s going to be powerful one day? ;-) I think having certain abilities would’ve made high school a whole lot more interesting for me!

What about you? If you could change something about your high school years, what would it be? And it doesn’t even have to be realistic. Wish you could’ve had the ability to push the cocky jock into the fountain whenever he walked by it? Tell us. One commenter will win their choice of an ebook from the Goddess Series!

And if you really like winning stuff, check out my Facebook Fan Page. I have a contest running during this tour where one winner will receive a $100 gift card to Amazon or Barnes and Noble !https://www.facebook.com/mwmuse.author

Her alter-ego writes in adult genres for multiple publishers, but her love of young adult stories geared for the upper end of that spectrum, termed “New Adult”, made her seek a new outlet for those young adult characters swimming around in her head. Release Blitz ~ Evil Companions by Michael Perkins

We had gotten aboard a roller coaster, and it was a race for our lives, on a one-way track.
In New York City during the heady, tumultuous years of the 1960s, a young couple meet. Together they embark on a dark erotic journey into forbidden sexuality - travelling on an incandescent road to nowhere in their tragic fall from grace.
Scorching and poignant, and banned upon its first publication in England, Evil Companions is a masterpiece of contemporary erotica.
'Evil Companions is a meticulous miracle of language and observation . . . A dark jewel on the erotic landscape.' Samuel R. Delany

******** EXCERPT ********
Some of what happened to us, what we did to each other, might have been prevented. But we had gotten aboard a roller coaster, and it was a race for our lives, on a one-way track.

Circumstances, the mood of the time, made our explorations seem natural, forecast in all our stars. Most of them I haven’t seen in years, and wouldn’t care to—except for Anne, that is. I’ve waited for her to come back, to finish the story. Maybe she won’t because it doesn’t have an end, or because neither of us wants it to end.

Our life together was a story we told each other at night, and we were always careful to consider the obligations of plot and character. Anne, especially, watched the dialogue and considered speech patterns, having decided that the nuances of conversation and sound often tell the listener more than a character would ordinarily want to tell. I had the same feeling about faces. We did more than tell each other stories at night, though; we lived our whole lives then, like—vampires. History is made at night, said Frank Borzage.

We met during rehearsals of a play I was doing in a cafĂ© theatre on the East Side. She sat at a table on the side sipping coffee through a straw, and she looked ready to scream. She was with friends, some people I knew slightly and hated. It was obvious she was with them, but not of them. They ignored each other. The play was dingy and amateurish, and I became quite loud in my objections to it; I had the lead, but I had taken it in desperation, looking for anything to rouse me from my lethargy. The actress I was working with missed her cue for the third time and I exploded, cursing her, the director, and the script, which I felt no affinity with.

Something hit me in the middle of the back—the girl at the table had thrown her coffee at me. I stood frozen, feeling the hot liquid run down my back.

“You fucking faggot son-of-a-bitch! You actor! If you weren’t so goddamned illiterate, you could handle that script!” Everyone just looked at her. As quickly as she had flared up, she calmed down, and sank back into her seat. She looked so embarrassed she might have sunk into the floor.

I didn’t say anything; I went to the men’s room and cleaned myself off as well as I could. Then I sat on the toilet and smoked a cigarette. When I got up, I went straight to her table. She got up to join me without a word.

“Come on, let’s take a walk,” I said. It was already dark outside. I hadn’t realized I had been working so long. She had a peculiar gait, like a sailor’s; we walked along. “Did I hurt you?” she asked me. “Let me see.” She pushed me in a doorway and slipped her hand around so she could feel my back. Her hand slipped up under my coat and over my buttocks with a man’s urgent touch. “You’re still wet. Come home with me and you can get dried off.” It was practically a command. She took my hand as if it were already a part of her, ready to pull me
along if I hesitated.

The building she lived in was one part tenement and two parts gingerbread house. I went galumphing up the stairs behind her, noticing the runs in her stockings. She wore stocking with seams down the back, those clay-colored things my mother used to wear.

Her apartment had its own particular smell, an aromatic combination I have never been able to forget: a hideous incense called Dhoop, marijuana, and an exciting odor of pure, raw sex,
mixed with the smell of her cats. She had five of them; the leader was an old gray tom she called Wino, who was missing one eye and any sense of decorum. I learned that it wasn’t unusual for him to leap on guests with his claws out, or to urinate in the middle of the floor and stand there proudly, daring you to rebuke him. I wanted to call him Jean Genet.

She still had my hand. She pulled me in the bedroom, but it was occupied by a young Puerto Rican who was rolling his eyes at the ceiling. As soon as he saw us, he rolled off and staggered out into the other room.

“Sit down and take off your pants.” I sat on the bed and watched her move around. She seemed unconscious of my presence as she took off her clothes. When she was naked in the
red light she sat down beside me and, without a word, unbuckled my belt and pulled my trousers off.

“Don’t be uptight. You’re an actor, aren’t you? Here’s a situation you can play your heart out in.”

“Meaning you?”

“Oh man, don’t be muley! You act like a thickhead. It’s hot inhere, take off those damn clothes. I don’t trust anybody in clothes.” I did what she asked. My scrotum was tight and
wrinkled, and I felt like washing my feet. I noticed that hers were black. Her breasts were small and sharp, the nipples blood red.

She noticed me looking at them.

“Touch. Go on. Then maybe you’ll feel better,” she said dispassionately. I dragged my underwear over my crotch and sat back, away from her. “What’s the matter? Is my hostility
showing?” she asked.

“Turn it off,” I said.

“Turn what off?”

“Whatever the fuck this game is. What’s your name, anyway?”

“Anne, sometimes.”

“Well, Anne, what’s the game? I thought you hated me. It was a bad script.”

“If you thought that, you wouldn’t have come home with me. You’re out in the cold. I could tell that when I first saw you.”

Beyond The Edge Blog Tour ~ Guest Post and Giveaway with Kallysten

As Brett Andrews, owner of the famous club On The Edge, reaches the big ‘four-O,’ he has one request and one question for his two vampire lovers, Leo and Lisa: he doesn’t want them to organize any sort of celebration for him – but he does want to know why neither of them has ever mentioned the possibility of turning him into a vampire.

The question finds an answer, and the three of them share a promise for the year to come. His request, on the other hand, is doomed from the start as they already have plans for the big day: they have a gift for him to match presents he offered each of them, and the party they planned with help from a couple of friends promises to be something special.

Vampire Anando and his human lover Virginia met at On The Edge. They are friends and occasional lovers of Leo, Brett and Lisa. When asked, they gladly accept to host the big-bash birthday party – and the private after-party, too. A good time is had by all, but the last gift is only revealed a few weeks later, to be delivered after nine months.

With both humans in love with vampires, neither expected a child in their future. As for the vampires, they knew for a fact that they’d never become parents. For all five, once the first shock has passed, decisions have to be made. Will this new adventure strengthen bonds of love and friendship, or will it tear lives apart?

******** GUEST POST ********
When Lindsey suggested I talk about the leading men of Beyond The Edge today, my first instinct was to pick one and focus on him. As I thought about it, though, I slowly came back to the idea of talking about all of them - I wouldn’t want to make any of them jealous! Here are all three: Brett and Leo, the heroes of the On The Edge series, and Anando, from the Out of the Box series.

Let me start with the human hero, Brett. He’s the owner of a successful club where vampires and humans meet openly, something important to him as he has two vampires in his life: Lisa, who created and owns the club with him, and Leo, one of their bartenders. Brett’s relationships have a tendency to grow deeper and more complicated than he first meant them to be.

When he met Lisa in Before The Edge, they agreed on a no strings attached, open relationship, but he ended up falling head over heels for her. Same thing when Lisa brought Leo to their bed for a night of exploration: one night in On The Edge turned into a lot more than that in Over The Edge and Walking The Edge, and Brett ended up offering both of them rings as symbols of his love.

In Living Out of the Box, the first time the On The Edge trio and the Out of the Box couple shared a night together, Brett was only supposed to watch, but he ended up right in the middle of things. Again in Beyond The Edge, his birthday party takes an unexpected turn and he finds himself the biological father to his friends’ child, much to his surprise.

Brett’s vampire partner, Leo, was sired just days after Lisa by the same vampire who taught the two of them to kill in order to feed. While Lisa shook off the influence of their Sire early on, it was a lot more difficult for Leo, and for years he and Lisa were estranged.

When he comes across her again in On The Edge and she not only welcomes him into her life but also shares her lover, Brett, with him, he feels like he has finally found his place in the world. He doesn’t give up feeding from and sleeping with humans, but he now has limits to guide him: he doesn’t kill, and he asks for Brett’s approval before spending a night with anyone, as they agree on in Walking The Edge.

Taking occasional lovers, like when he joins Anando and Virginia for a night in Out of the Box and again in Living Out of the Box, doesn’t mean he loves Brett and Lisa any less, and all three of them are pretty good at separating what they have together from ‘games’ played with others. When one of these games ends up with Virginia being pregnant with Brett’s child inBeyond The Edge, Leo is arguably the person who keeps the coolest head among all involved, and with his help tempestuous reactions soon calm down again.

Anando is Virginia’s vampire partner. For years, he used Brett’s club as his hunting grounds, and found there humans to take to his bed for a night - and to feed from, without killing. When he met Virginia, he didn’t expect her to be any different, but as they met again and again in the Out of the Box series, their relationship grew more intense than he expected, or was ready for. He tried to end things, but had to admit to himself that he did want more from her, like she did from him.

In the first series and the sequel Living Out of the Box, Anando helps Virginia explore her sexuality, presenting to her games in which her inhibitions are challenged over and over. He is the one who brings Virginia and Brett to the same bed in Beyond The Edge, and while he is happy about her pregnancy and immediately claims the child as his, he does have mixed feelings about the role Brett played—and still has to play—in the baby’s life.

If you’d like to know more about any of these gentlemen, I invite you to pick up one of their stories. You can also get the first Out of the Box short story for free from my website and several retailers, and my blog includes several short flash fiction pieces about the On The Edge trio.

I’d also like to invite you to take part in the giveaway below… One lucky winner will get the swag pictured (two signed bookmarks, a magnet, romance trading card, two cards and a stick of lip balm). Just enter the Rafflecopter giveaway, and if you comment be sure to tell me which of these men intrigues you most!

I am also running a big tour giveaway on my blog with gift cards for $25 and $15 as prizes. I’d love for you to come by and play with me!
