Review for With This Kiss : Part Three by Eloisa James

Title: With This Kiss : Part Three
Author: Eloisa James

Description: Lieutenant Colin Barry returns from the wars injured in body and spirit, knowing that he has no right to steal Grace from the arms of her fiancé. Yet the same warrior's spirit that won so many battles at sea is prompting him to throw propriety to the winds, imitate his pirate father, and simply take what he most desires!

Author's Note: Don't forget to read Parts One and Two! Reading this installment first would be like eating the icing before you even get it onto a cupcake

My Thoughts: Oh my Colin, how you turned things around. In this third installment, with Grace in a tizzy and throwing in the towel, Colin realizes he must make his feeling clear, as well as his intentions that nothing, not even her, will stop them from marrying. He just needs to make her see that her letters full of love saved him.

He does!!! He does so in the most delicious way, not only sexually, but emotionally as well. This couple makes you yearn for a love like theirs. Sure, you had your ups and downs throughout the three installments. In the end, Eloisa brings all three installments to a close wonderfully, seeing what happens 10 years later. I have to say I am not a fan of short reads, but I fell in love with each installment.  You connect with all of James characters and soon you are feeling the emotions with them. Colin almost had me not liking him, but won me over and Lady Grace was so relatable. You enjoy seeing the parents of each, that were in previous stories as well. I, myself, had to jump into the next installment once I finished one, so those who will be waiting a week in between, it will be torture. I will say, James gives you a beginning, middle, and end tied together in one luscious story topped with a bow. I fully recommend these installments.

Review for With This Kiss : Part Two by Eloisa James

Title: With This Kiss: Part Two
Author: Eloisa James

Description: Lady Grace Ryburn has accepted another man's proposal after the love of her life, Lieutenant Colin Barry, asked for her own sister's hand in marriage.

But when Colin returns home from the wars, injured in body and spirit, will she be able to turn her back and marry another? Or will she throw away every rule her mother taught her and try to seduce a man who has shown no interest in her kisses?

Author's Note: Be sure to read Part One first! You need to know the story of how Grace fell in love with Colin . . .

My Thoughts: Following Part One nicely, Lady Grace has been being courted by Lord McIngle, who has showed interest in her since Part One. She never gave it much thought, but threw herself into making a connection once she found out Colin had asked for her sister’s hand. Lord McIngle asks for her hand and she agrees, becoming engaged. Colin, who is realizing that he made the worst mistake of his life and hasn't received a letter from Grace in weeks, is wondering if he lost her to the Scotsman. Colin winds up getting injured and knows he will never be able to try and right his wrongs half a man. So in his laudanum, he dreams he is finally with Grace in all the ways he wished he could have been.

Discharged and returned to England, he visits the Ashbrook's home first before heading on where Grace sees him. She comes up with a plan, tossing all the rules her mother taught her out the window. One carriage ride and laudanum dream later, Colin is in for the awakening of his life and Lady Grace is convinced that it was the drugs, not love for her that makes her doubt their connection once again.

Holy cow Eloisa!!! It's about time Colin as well. Who would have thought you could pack such a punch with 62 pg installments. Yet, I am eating them up and craving more. The passionate encounter had me going ‘oh my’! I do not envy those who must wait for each installment. I was so happy Lady Grace decided to follow her heart. Sure, she might have broken a heart, but when it's true love, you go after it. Once she saw Colin again injured, she knew she hadn't stopped loving him. The heat and unrequited love burst to flames in the back of the carriage. There might have been some misunderstanding on if it was the drug or love, as well as questions, but now that Colin had her where he wanted her, he was keeping her. James, you engage the readers with this couple. I see all three installments as must reads where one might end you will anxiously want to jump into the next. I can't express how much I adore these short installments, even if I think it is cruel and unusual punishment to those who have to wait for the next one.

Review for With This Kiss : Part One by Eloisa James

Title: With This Kiss : Part One
Author : Eloisa James

Description: Lady Grace Ryburn, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Ashbrook, has fallen wildly in love with Colin Barry, a dashing young lieutenant serving his country in the Royal Navy. When he returns home to exuberant celebrations, will he even notice the quiet wallflower he grew up with … or will he fall for Grace's sparkling, gorgeous sister?

Author's Note: Lady Grace is the eldest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Ashbrook, from The Ugly Duchess, and Colin is the eldest adopted son of Sir Griffin Barry, from Seduced by a Pirate.

My Thoughts: In part one of this three part series, you meet Lady Grace as a young girl of 10 who develops feelings for Colin, the oldest adopted son of Sir Barry Griffin. After coming to his rescue, and being mistaken for her younger sister, she lets her love grow stronger through the years for a young man who grows into an admirable, navy officer.

James weaves of tale of unrequited love, on Lady Grace’s part, as we wait for Colin to realize love is blind and right under his nose in the sister he hadn't thought that way about.

I enjoyed Part One greatly. Seeing how the characters and relationships developed. My heart went out to Grace and I loved Colin for the tortured hero that he is, but I sure did want to yell at him once or twice. I also deeply enjoyed the bond between the families as well as parent to children. James has hooked me with Part One. For those who have to wait for the next parts, it will be torture and all part of a devious plan to build up anticipation, I am in no doubt.

Review for Bound by Decency (The Flying Gang Legacy # 1) Claire Ashgrove

Title: Bound By Decency ( The Flying Gang Legacy # 1)
Author: Claire Ashgrove

Description: Once, Cain sailed with the cutthroats of The Flying Gang, fearless Captain of The Kraken, bound to no one save the sea. After inheriting a portion of Spain’s Royal Inheritance, he resigned the life of brigands for a chance at honest wealth. With the secrets of his piracy tucked away, he achieved his lofty aspirations. But when his partner and best friend betrays him to the Royal Navy, Cain’s dreams are ripped to shreds. He’s left with his ship, the tattered remnants of a stolen future, and a piece of Spanish mystery. Wanted by three nations and destined for the gallows, he returns to the legendary band of buccaneers for one purpose---vengeance.

Kidnapped by the formidable Cain, India Prescott discovers he intends to kill the man she’s to marry, Richard Grey. Cain’s story reveals betrayal. Treachery that extends to her as well. Although she holds the key to retribution, India refuses to become another man’s pawn. Freedom lies before her, the liberty to shrug off propriety, make her own decisions, and claim her destiny. But when she uncovers goodness in Cain’s soul and he awakens passion in her heart, she must combat the chains of convention once more.

Only this time India's not fighting society. She’s battling a pirate bent on keeping her decency intact.

My Thoughts: Teddy, better known as Cain, one of the most fearsome pirates on the sea, has tried to put that life behind him in exchange for one of decency. Only that didn't quite happen. He refused to be part of something he didn't believe in and as a result one of the people he thought was close to him revealed his true identity. Upon escape Cain kidnaps India, believing she could lead him to the one who betrayed him. What he didn't expect was how one look and touch from her could heat his body and make him wish he could be the man she deserves.

India would not betray her betrothed, even if she doesn't like him. Never great at sea, she becomes ill and Cain demonstrates some decency which makes her see him in a different light. Doesn't hurt that he warms her body and makes her ache for his touch. India thought for sure amongst a bunch of pirates she should be scared, but instead she feels free and like she can be herself. As her feelings grow, she knows she will do anything to prove his innocence, even if he thinks it will never happen.

Wow where do I begin.... I hesitated to read this because it is a long book and I feared I would not like it. I never read a pirate book. Then I started and I did not want to put it down. The book held me in it's grasp as Ashgrove captures the readers attention with sexy pirates and a tale of betrayal, trust, passion, romance and adventures across the sea. I was so enthralled with India and her strong will, not to mention her sass and impishness . As well as Cain’s inner struggle with the villain people think he is to the gentleman he wants to be with a pirate’s edge.

Ashgrove not only has your attention glued to the main characters, but I loved the background characters as well. You got a feel for them and wanted to see more of them. I will say she teased us, building up our intense feelings along with Cain and India. You just couldn't help, but root for their love. This couple was perfectly matched, driving me to the edge with the building passion. Cain battling while India decided to take things into her own hands and makes it happen drove me crazy in a good way. When they finally come together, it was explosive and you could let out that sigh of relief you had been holding for pages.

Another character I loved in this book was Drake I'm so happy to see Ashgrove is making this a series. Drake’s meddling personality and mischievous ways made me fall for him and I hope to see him again. Ashgrove has created a definite “worth the read” with this book. I'm betting it will be the same with others in this series, where the leading ladies are just as fierce as their swoon-worthy pirates. I am already looking forward to the next. Are you ready to be bound to the sea and ride the waves?

Bound By Decency Blog Tour - Guest post and Giveaway with Claire Ashgrove

Welcome to this stop of the Bound By Decency Virtual Blog Tour with Claire Ashgrove. I am currently reading this book and really loving it. These pirates are definitely smexy. Now I will pass the blog over to Claire.........

Thanks for letting me stop by United By Books today.  I’m thrilled to be here talking about my debut historical, Bound by Decency.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Cutting Corners As An Author

One of the things I get asked often is “How do you find the time?”  I write in many different genres, and with the combined titles under my second pen name, Tori St. Claire, I have 16 books out.  The vast majority of which have released since August of last year.

So… I’m sharing my secrets with you now!

First, understand, that the Story is God.  This is something that I’ve had to ingrain in my family.  The Story is God…and I Must Answer Its Demands.  This means that when the calendar says I have to have x done on y day, we are not having a gourmet dinner.  We’re having macaroni and cheese if you’re lucky.  Most likely, it’s hot dogs.  If laundry needs to be done?  Well… there’s the soap, there’s the machine…  Carve off a few minutes here and there with the mundane household chores, and that time adds up!  Do the important things.  Let the others wait until the deadline is met.

Second, train your friends, not just your immediate family.  This means all those people who think you’re at home luxuriating in the life of an author, not actuallyworking…get a rather rude awakening when you suddenly just don’t answer the phone or decline a trip down the street for shoes.  (Er… wait… shoes are excusable.  Let’s try new towels.)  They will learn, eventually, that work calls.  And you, dear writer, will be so much more pleased by not having to deal with the interruption of a ringing phone if you simply turn it off.  And tip!  No awkward moments about declining a shopping spree if the invitation comes to voice mail.

Third, abolish your need for sleep.  What?  You can’t function without at least eight hours?  Hah!  You can.  And sometimes, when a deadline is pressing, you must.  On any given night I get around 5 hours of sleep.  I juggle farm life, school for the kids, a part time day job, and home life for the kids.  That means the downtime usually hits on the hours the family is asleep.  Don’t be afraid to burn the midnight oil – you might be surprised how a tiny does of sleep-deprived delirium might actually work in your plot.

Okay all of that is rather tongue in cheek… but what I’m trying to get at is simple:

a.
Carve off the extemporaneous and cut back.  Just like you’d budget finances, budget your time and readjust as you need to when a deadline is staring you in the face.
b.
Once you carve off the time, make the time work for you.  Cutting time out of your lunch hour so you can leave work that much earlier is great.  Spending that time doing anything else but writing as you intended isn’t in your favor.
c.
Use every moment you can.  If this means staying up late, then so be it.  If that means fifteen minutes to review a few pages of edits on a break, use it.  But typically, writers are sleep deprived, and that’s something an author should embrace.

Writing is work, plain and simple. It’s enjoyable work, and when someone has a passion for what they do, it’s even more enjoyable.  Still, it’s a job, and like most self-employed ventures, it requires motivation, drive, and above all, commitment.  I don’t know exactly what I do to accomplish all that’s on my plate.  But I do know that it requires careful juggling of everything, and without my family’s help and support, it simply wouldn’t happen.

So tell me… whether you’re a writer or not, what tricks do you use to make hectic schedules work?

After inheriting a portion of Spain’s Royal Inheritance, Cain left The Flying Gang for a chance at honest wealth. Wanted by three nations and destined for the gallows, he returns to the legendary band of buccaneers for one purpose -- vengeance.

Kidnapped by the formidable Cain, India Prescott discovers he intends to kill the man she’s to marry.

Series Concept:

The Flying Gang Legacy

1717...
With Europe in chaos over who would claim the Spanish throne, the Atlantic waters bred a most despicable lot. Privateers who pillaged and claimed, loyal to no country, more thief than noble mercenary. One man would claim Spain’s inheritance. He would pass it on. To a band of cutthroats more terrifying and deadly than the nightmares of the deep.

As the nations settle into peace, The Flying Gang knows no boundaries. No sea is safe. No shore unchartered. Chilling Rogers raised to the sky, they reign with fear, bound only to the wind, the brotherhood, and the ships they love. One tiny jeweled box strikes a gleam in their eyes. A golden trinket four rogue Captains risk danger, capture, and even friendship to possess.

Until love interferes with their rapscallion hearts…

********* EXCERPT*********

For a moment, he could do nothing more than stare. Richard had said his intended was lovely, but somehow, Cain had never pictured her as a beauty. Yet now, as she stood before him, her chest heaving with indignation and her hair a sopping mess, he realized Richard had once again played him false. India Prescott wasn’t merely lovely. She was breathtaking.
“What in the name of Mary do you think you’re doing?” she snapped. “My father will see you hang for this.”
Her sharp tongue yanked Cain out of his stupor. He collected himself quickly, and for the first time since his arrest, gave into a broad grin. “Indeed, he will have to get in line.”
India’s eyes widened a fraction, but anger drew delicate brows downward, and those sky-blue eyes narrowed. “I see no amusement in this. Do you have any idea who I am?”
As a rumble of laughter broke through the men within earshot, Cain’s humor subsided. His smile faded, and he reached out to twine a thick lock of her hair around his finger. Turning his wrist, he wrapped the silken length around his hand, slowly bringing her closer. So close that the wet fabric straining across her breasts dampened his shirt. The heat of her skin grazed his. “I know well who you are, Miss Prescott.” He ran the back of his free hand across her dainty collar bone, over the slope of her shoulder, then lifted it to draw his thumb across her parted lips. The audible catch of her breath ricocheted through him. So she was not unaffected by him. Good. He could use it to his advantage.
His gaze held hers. A flicker of fear passed behind her eyes, but to her credit, she didn’t shrink away. She stood straight and proud, even as she shivered in the stirring breeze. Courage Cain didn’t often encounter from the gentle born. God’s teeth, men far stronger and larger than she didn’t hesitate to grovel at his feet. Yet she, no bigger than a lark, defied him with stubborn silence.
Unacceptable.
To drive her subservient position as his captive home, he tightened his hold on her hair until she winced. Leaning forward, he lowered his mouth to her ear. “You are the daughter of a powerful man and presently my prisoner, to do with as I will.” Stepping back, he untwined his hand and smirked.
India’s palm cracked across his cheek. “Rot in hell!”

Review for Rescued By A Rake (Rakes and Rogues #1) by Gwenan Haines

Title: Rescued By A Rake (Rakes and Rogues #1)
Author: Gwenan Haines

Description: A gothic romance set in 19th-century England.

In a desperate attempt to flee the advances of her lecherous employer, governess Lydia Taylor steals his pistol and sets off across the Yorkshire countryside. After spending two months as a virtual prisoner at Stanbury Manor she wants nothing to do with Lord Hugh Stanbury—or any other man.

When Lord Jack Sibley glimpses a ghostly figure wandering the moors his first instinct is to ignore the auburn-haired beauty. Rumored to be the devil incarnate, he has a reputation as a heartless scoundrel who murdered his brother's fiancé on the eve of her wedding. Does Jack set out to rescue the beautiful woman to placate the demons that haunt him--or is his mission merely a clever ruse to bed yet another woman?

Whether she is threatening him with a pistol or seducing him by firelight, the 23-year-old Lydia is as untamed as the moors she grew up on. Though he dare not admit it, Jack may have finally met the only woman whose passion can rival his own... but if he is certain of one thing it's that passion can be deadly.

My Thoughts: Lydia is a governess. After an unwanted advance on her was made by the despicable Lord Standburry, she escapes into the cold and rainy night with his pistol as her only source of protection. Fighting the elements of the weather she rushes blindly into the night. She thinks she is heading to town, but winds up at the moors, and right into the path of the rake lord, Jack Sibley. Fighting a few of his own ghosts Jack happens to see Lydia outside in his moors caught in the storm. When he sees Lydia he is drawn to her wanting nothing more than to protect her and her fiery temper even with a pistol pointed at him. Lydia has heard rumors about the devil Sibley but her growing feelings of attraction and love won't be stopped once she sees the true Sibley.

I really enjoyed this book. It may not be for everyone cause everything is kind of fast paced in this short novella. I had never heard of Gwenan Haines before this review was requested, but I can tell you I am happy I know her work now. For a short read, it is captivating and it had a bit of excitement along with the romance; not to mention the passion between the characters. Though it was spicy and the sex scenes were hot, it wasn't overboard. I wish it was longer not because it needed to be, but cause I didn't want it to end, and it would have built the intrigue and our feelings for the characters more. Lydia is feisty and knows how to take care of herself, but underneath it all there lays a slight hint of vulnerability. She is also a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to take it. Jack is your handsome yet addictive leading man who is tortured by the pass demons and lets people think of him as "the Devil" when he is caring and tender and passionate. I believe Haines is a talented author that i will enjoy reading more of her work. I will be looking out for the next book in the Rakes and Rogues series.

~Goodreads

My Thoughts:  Where do I start?  I won't leave a brief summary, like I normally do, because this is a short 51 page read and the description says enough. Mckinzie Heart gave me a story I wasn't expecting, that is for sure. I loved the fiery, red head Katlyn. She had the sass and temper to match her red hair. Katlyn also has another gift that you will come to learn. James gets her hot, but there is someone else that we least expect and he makes no joke that he plans to have the feisty lass. I read this story in one sitting with the unexpectedness I would end up loving to see it longer. How it would play out with more pages to it so its not as rushed. I will also say, the sex is hot with a side of kink in the graveyard. Even though the book wasn't what I thought it would be, I was still intrigued by the concept and not just because of the sex. I've always loved the idea of soul mates. To see see a tale of one and how Heart managed to pull me into this story, makes me have to say it was a good read. I admit, I struggled with writing this review. Mainly because I had to process it all, but the fact that the story is still fresh in my mind, a few weeks after reading it, says more than I ever could in a simple review.

Excerpt:   Nothing looked familiar but she pushed on bombarded now by flashes of images in her head. Her head felt full and heavy undoubtedly proving it would worsen unless she could escape. She must escape now! She lifted her skirts and bolted in blind desperation. The images and feelings increased, pressing against her skull. Gunfights, murders, natural and unnatural deaths…too numerous to count and now the whispers began. Some threatening, some enticing weaving in and about the mixed images…calling her, luring her. The multiple voices bombarded her mind as the flood of feelings threatened to overwhelm her. And the mixed scents of gunpowder, leather, and assorted perfumes flowed about her threatening to drown. One particular headstone stood strong and comforting in the distance. She concentrated in that direction feeling only a soothing wave.

She dropped her skirts and covered her ears as she raced to it leaping over misty hands and arms that only she could see reaching up to grasp at her skirts and legs. Kate didn’t know if they could actually touch her but she surely didn’t want to find out. When she finally jumped upon that soul’s site, everything quieted receding back into a calm after the storm.

One Night to Remember by Kristin Miller Review and Giveaway

First class clothing designer Elizabeth Scott isn’t all that she appears. She may be elegant and poised on the outside, dining with the richest on the ship, but she’s hiding a dark secret within.

Thieves boarded the Titanic, too…

Officer Thomas McGuire is as honest as they come. Working to make a decent living on the ship of dreams, he can’t believe his eyes when the most striking lady he’s ever seen steals from another first class passenger. As the night goes on, Thomas must decide whether he plans to arrest or seduce Elizabeth and she’s not making it easy on him—the heat sparking between them is unlike anything they’ve ever known.

Time is running out…

The Titanic is sinking fast. Elizabeth has finally met a true gentleman—one who gazes upon her with total adoration yet fulfills her deepest fantasies. But being a gentleman means more than playing the stuffy part. Thomas insists on helping other passengers until the very end, even if that means going down with the ship.

In the fight for their lives, they just might find a love worth dying for.

My Thoughts: Elizabeth does something at dinner amongst the first class passengers one night that unknowingly catches the eye of a handsome man. Not just any man either. Officer Thomas McGuire can't believe what's happening before his very eyes and when she goes to leave, he is close on her heels. However, Elizabeth likes a good game of cat and mouse especially when she thought she lost him. Thomas isn't that easy to lose and his cuffs will find a home. Elizabeth wants Thomas like no one she's ever wanted before even if it's in handcuffs.

Elizabeth reminds me of a Robin Hood of the seas. She has sass, knows what she wants, and how to go after it. Thomas is your straight laced, honorable officer who has a seductive power over the independent thief. His kiss and touch make her ache for more. If there was a man who could tame her, it would be him. Elizabeth may have finally met her match in her complete opposite.

For his part, it is similar. Thomas can't shake the passion Elizabeth ignites in him or how she calls to him, even if he doesn't agree with how they met. All he can think about are the questions he wants to know about the person she is deep down and why, when they come together, they light up in flames of passion .

Through the tragedy of the Titanic, the tale of a love that could be is told. Miller did great setting the stage and making this visit to the Titanic believable. I love anything Titanic. Normally I would think of the movie, but Miller took me in a direction where I was loving the characters. Elizabeth and Thomas swept me away on a roller coaster of ups and downs. One minute I'm chuckling over cat and mouse chase, the next I'm getting hot and bothered by a few sexual encounters between them and handcuffs in one if them. I found myself in tears thinking the worst, as the ship was going down, and hoping for the best. I am so glad I read this book . I'm looking forward to seeing what else Kristen Miller has in store for us in the future. Definitely check out this read for “One Night to Remember”.

Excerpt:

Elizabeth didn’t know what to make of Thomas McGuire or the rumblings inside her when they touched.

Before boarding the Titanic, Elizabeth had lived her life as a bit of a daredevil, taking on adventures others thought too risky. She’d been searching for something worth fighting for. Something that would boil the blood in her veins and rile up her defenses. Since stepping foot on board, she’d stolen from a handful of first class passengers and thought not much of it.

Never—not once—had a single spark of exhilaration ever fired in her middle. Not like this.

From one smoldering touch, Thomas sent heat flashing to Elizabeth’s center and flurries of excitement to her core. When his lips pressed against hers, she felt…alive. More so than she ever had before.

“What now?” he asked, once he’d turned from the door. His face was pale, nearly matching the whiteness of his dress shirt. He looked anxious, but it suited him well. His square jaw was clenched, ticking by his temple. And his lips were pressed tight.

He was a challenge. A tightly wound ball of nerves that Elizabeth couldn’t wait to unravel.

“Now you kiss me,” she said, and held her breath.

He covered the length of the room quickly, his strong hands cupping her neck as he pulled her against him. She arched back, letting the pleasure of his kiss overtake her.

Beneath the prim and proper suit, hidden under layers of stifling responsibility, was a man that made Elizabeth’s heart beat fast. She could feel power surging beneath the surface of his rigid persona.

If only she could unleash it…

Author Bio: Kristin Miller has had a passion for all things Titanic since 1988, a full decade before Jack and Rose came on scene. Although she owns more than fifty books written about the Titanic, a copied set of the ship’s blueprints, a piece of coal from its busted boilers, and a postcard sent from the ship mid-voyage, her collection of 1912 first edition Titanic books holds a special place in her heart.

She writes dark and gritty paranormal romance for HarperCollins (INTERVAMPTION, VAMPED UP, and VAMP APPEAL, August 2012), fantasy/paranormals for Harlequin (CLAIMED BY DESIRE, May 2012, and FORBIDDEN BY FATE, July 2012), and has dabbled in romantic suspense (DARK TIDE RISING).

Review for Being Wicked by Lacy Danes

Title: Being Wicked
Author: Lacy Danes

Description: It is an evening for rakes and rogues, courtesans and demimondes. Lords and ladies in disguise, all wishing to sample the array of erotic delights around them. But this ball is not the talk of the town, it is a taste of forbidden ecstasy. Lilly had never dreamed
that hiding in her brother's carriage would end in her arrival at a ball such as this. She should be shocked by the bawdy behavior before her, but instead she is intrigued and when Vincent St. Jerome, London's foremost rake, offers to help her find her brother, she follows him to a room filled with peep holes in the walls. What Lilly sees is pure carnal pleasure and all she desires is complete sexual surrender. Lady Wentland is a worldly widow who misses the sensual delights she used to share with her husband, so attending the Cyprian's Ball disguised as a courtesan allows her to sample the erotic pleasures she's missed, until she meets Winston Greyton, her brother's best friend and the one man she knows she might have once loved. She resists his first advances toward her, but the heat of their arousal soon ignites a fire of wicked, reckless passion.

My Thoughts: Two stories come together as two lives interconnect in one night that will help them find themselves and be friends for life. The people I speak of are Lady Grace Wentland and Lady Lillian. After being in a not so good marriage and now widowed, Grace is finally back out on the town, or how it was known then “ton”, in 1828 England. An old friend convinces her to go to a party and she decides this would be the last Cyprian ball and a chance for one last encounter to salve her sexual delights. Upon arriving she sees Lillian fall from a carriage. Lilly, who wants to prove to the people that they are wrong about her brother, sneaks into the blanket compartment of the carriage and winds up the party. Young and innocent in the ways she is about to see, Grace takes her under her wing and explains she must open her mind. When they part, Grace runs into a friend of her brother’s that she had grown up with and loved. They wind up partaking in the pleasure of sensual and erotic delights while Lily runs into her brother’s traveling companion. To the party, he is St. Jerome, to others, he is known as one of the worst rakes about ton (though some would be surprised by him) and she finds herself attracted to him, letting him guide her in finding her brother and the lure of the night. I have been enjoying Historical Romances lately, but Lacy Danes  takes it to the next level by making it Erotic as well. I loved how the stories kept connecting and the different points of views from each character. It was like nothing I have ever read before, but now desiring more. The sex was HOT and lurid, and so erotic you will find yourself panting and getting ideas. The characters draw you in and make you want more for them, not just sex wise, but for them each to find their passion, desires, and happiness. All in all, I enjoyed this book. I have a few more books of Lacy Danes and I cant wait to see what’s in store
