Guest Post and Giveaway with Terry Spear

Happy New Year from Me to You! By Terry Spear

What do you want in the New Year? Do you make goals?

Okay, here are some of mine. I can’t wait for A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing to come out, March 2012. I’ll be going to town on another huge blog tour again in March, but my goal is to have ALL the blogs done super early. It’s not like I procrastinate, or anything, but sometimes I just can’t figure out one more new thing to say! Or I’m waiting on interview questions that haven’t been sent yet. Or I sign up for a whole new slew of guest posts and I’m trying to catch up. And other stuff, deadlines, work, daughter’s wedding, sometimes just gets in the way. Ever feel that way?

I’ll be judging several published authors’ contests next year again, like I do every year. And for the third year in a row, I’ve entered the RITA. BUT I am not going to worry whether I will be called about finaling in the RITA. I didn’t last year, or the year before, although I must admit I did think about it occasionally. Fantasized about it while I was at work a couple…or more times. But I won’t be keeping my phone at hand, just in case. That gives me this vague hope that when I make the long drive home from work, listening to whatever audio book I’m “reading” at the time, I might just come home to THE CALL. Not that I’ll lose any sleep over it. That would be silly. But still, maybe some year…I will get that much revered call.

I’m working on three new stories, A Highland Wolf Wedding,Cearnach from Heart of the Highland Wolf’s pack, the second jaguar story in the series, and Tom Silver from Destiny of the Wolf pack’s story in Silence of the Wolf, title probably will change and plan to have all of them written this upcoming year. Plus I want to have the next Highland medieval romance done and another fae story. I’ve also been asked to write The Vampire…In My Nightmares, and I want to write the sequel to The Shadow Elf and Blood Moon, two other YA.

Attending my daughter’s wedding, which means my goal is still to find a formal! I have to hurry though. The wedding is in January! This will be the second marriage to the same guy. First was the informal official one, so she could live with himas his lawful wife while she’s taking her internship at the VA hospital in Houston. The second is the fancy one with all the foofaraw. My son started the trend the year before so he could take his wife with him to his AF duty assignment during training, then had the formal wedding in Pensacola, Florida. Such fun!

I’ll be teaching two workshops at the FF&P Conference in New Orleans in March, Happy Hookers and Conflict, Conflict, Conflict! And doing a book signing.

My goal is also to go to the RWA conference next year.

Then in September, I’ll be promoting the new jaguar release. Ikeep offering to help hand-select the jaguar man for the cover of the book, but no one at Sourcebook is biting. I don’t know why not. Seems to me it would be good research. For me.

Of course there are a million and one other things I need to do…like organize my taxes all year long instead of scrambling to figure it out before April 15th!

So what are your New Year’s Goals? Anything special you want to do or have planned?

A FIERCE HUNTER...
Alicia Greiston is a no-nonsense bounty hunter determined to bring a ring of mobsters to justice. Her dogged pursuit of the crime family has forced her to avoid relationships— any man would only become a target for retribution. Luckily, Jake Silver is more than a man, and his instincts are telling him to stop at nothing to protect her.
AN ANIMAL PASSION...
However, the mob isn't entirely human either, and soon Alicia must flee for her life. When Alicia and Jake's passion begins to spill over into their dreams, Jake learns he will have to do more than defend her— he'll have to show his mate the way of the wolf.

The new year is only a couple of days away and I am already tired thinking about it. I definitely have a list of things that need to be done, but so want to pull a Scarlet O'Hara and say tomorrow is another day. I have been blessed this year with some really good reads with a lot of new to me indie authors as well as old favorites. Memorable reads that come immediately to mind include Alex by Diane Hartsock, Trinity by Deena Remiel, Chasing Amanda by Melissa Foster, Blood Rock by Anthony Francis, Hit List by Laurel K. Hamilton probably one of my faves, and so many more. Thank you for sharing some joy for the beginning of this new year with this fun giveaway - fiddle dee dee LOL

That's a good question. Now that I'm retired. I have more time to do less. So I need to find a new project. I've been planning a new bookcase. The shelves will be alphabetized and categorized. The size of a closet. With automatic shelfs that come out, one at a time. And than go back out of sight. So one of my New Years wishes is to organize my books. And my favorite Terry Spear book? Can't pick. But it has been true here, if the Wolf has the last name Silver he's put up on the top of the list. Happy New Years all. I've already won and read this book. So I hope a new reader wins this great book.

That is a very good question... to be honest I stoped makeing goals for the new year once I reached High School. Most people now a days don’t really keep up with the goals they make for the New Year. But this year I am really going to try and keep up with one. I want to lose some weight before my birthday in August. I am really going to try and stick with it this time.

I haven't read and of your books before but I would sure love to. I love to read all kinds of books and I always have one with me in my bag where every I go.

I don't worry about what needs to be done in the new year.

I am just glad to be here for another New Year.

Goals or resolutions? Just to be and do the best I can for others and me.

It is going to start out kind of iffy, but each day I wake up and get out of bed is a little brighter.

I hope the New Year brings you joy and good health and much love.

I try not to make resolutions, because they lead to regrets as I never keep them. But I do have hopes for this upcoming year - mostly that my new daughter-in-law (who is very homesick for her family that lives in Ohio -we are in Washington State) feels loved and wanted, and knows that I adore her as if she were my own. I hope that my youngest son finds a job that allows him to follow his dream of obtaining his Electrician's certification, and that my husband's year at his job goes by as painlessly as possible so he's one year closer to retirement =)
Health and happiness would be the true honest to goodness best part of the year, and books for me would just be frosting =)
Happy New Year!

I do set goals - it just seems to take longer than I thought to accomplish them. For 2012 I'm going to: finish my house renovations & put in some new plantings outside. Also, I have to find a job.
I haven't read any of Terry's books yet, but they look like the kind I would enjoy. I love Highlander stories & have been wanting to read something with wolf shifters. I was glad to see that many of her books are in paperback rather than just digital since I haven't crossed over to an eReader.

I'm with the Unknown commenter in that I don't make resolutions either. I'm a therapist and I counsel my clients not to either. They can be setups for failure so easily.
I am always striving to improve life on many levels and to accomplish this, I naturally have to complete certain tasks or goals. For example, I graduated from grad school this year after 4 years of grad school and full-time work. I never once said, I will finish grad school by this or that date. And life being life, things came up that delayed finishing.
There are things that I want to happen in 2012 and as long as I keep striving for them, they will happen exactly when they're supposed to!
Happy and Healthy New year to all.

Hi Terry,

My 1st New Year's goal is to compete in the Winter Crossfit games.
My goal is to read all the unread books on my Kindle and try to stay catch up on my review requests for my blog.

Thanks Lindsey for sharing. I have not read any of Terry's books yet, but I do have a few in my TBR pile

What I want for the New Year is health, harmony, financial stability with my family and I wish this for my friends as well. I have made goals for myself this New Year...I will be truer to myself and not care so much what others opinions are about me, I want to finish the book I started writing by the end 2012, read the books on my tbr list, and become a more organized person.

I look forward to reading your work Terry. Thanks

It's strange but I don't do resolutions or goals. I just go about my life. As for what I wish for:
1. more time to read
2. get all the clutter picked up in this house - it's driving me nuts :)
3. my sons happy and successful
Thank you so much. I love your wolves :)

Yes mine goals are pretty much the same since it is ongoing. One is to graduate from college which my school is online since I have MS. I am also a writer and hoping to have my 2 submission in published. With reading and writing, I love to more of that. When I graduate in July I will have more time for that and to do some web designing as my job at home. I hate being on SSDI and being labeled Disabled. Yes I have an illness, with no cure, but In many ways it was a blessing. Now that I found the 2nd love of my life reading and writing again. I plan to make use of my college degree and spend more time with my first love, my husband. I love my family my two oldest sons are in the army and my youngest will be graduating this year. So a double party for him and myself. Thank you for your time to read my goals that is ongoing, I will not give up my goal to be author,I am giving it 100% shot at it.

I like to make goals for the new year, but not resolutions. I tend to work toward goals, but fail at resolutions. One of my goals this year is to keep getting healthier. In the last 8 months, I've lost 50 pounds. I need to lose another 30. I'm not dieting, just trying to eat right. I also want to manage my money better. We just downsized.. House and payment. I want to do what I said when we did this and save more money. I also want to realize that I can't please everyone and stop running myself ragged trying to. One enjoyment I get out if life is reading, so thanks for what you do. It is appreciated. srbagby 50 at gmail dot com

What I want in the new year is to try to quit smoking since my 6 year old has requested that of me and my husband and to also try eat healthier and get more exercise. I know it is goals that most people make and then disregard but I will try my best this year since I'm not getting any younger and would love to live a long healthy life.

My goal this year is to try to get my health back. It has been a long road but I keep going...not as fast as I once was though. I am attempting to get an outline together for a manuscript that has been begging me to put it in print for almost 20 years. One step at a time...

I don't make New Years Resolutions as a rule, but I saw a quite this year about making a goal to be yourself and It resonated with me So that is my goal for 2012, to be the best me I can and not be afraid to be myself!

Wow! I'm impressed with all that Terry has going on this year.

I do set a few simple goals to give direction. I wish to finish my book and have it edited, lose 20 lbs., and clean out my storage for a garage sale. There is more, but those are the most objective.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

My goals for the new year are to read as many books as is humanly possible. I would also like to lose the layer of winter weight I inevitably ALWAYS gain around Christmas. I have not had the pleasure of reading any of your books yet, but I would love the opportunity!!! Thanks for the giveaway>>>>>>>>>
