Review for The Last Soul (Seduced by a Demon) by Carolyn Rosewood

Description: Faina has been dead for one hundred and fifty years, but she’s about to become human again. All she has to do is seduce Jace Blackmon, the most honest financier ever to grace the city of angels, into signing away his soul.

Jace Blackmon has fallen in love with his fantasy woman. But when he realizes she was tricked by a demon to bring about his ruin, including the revelation of a long-buried secret to the media, he must choose between his heart or life without her.

Summary: Faina has a mission....just one last soul and Mastema will finally fulfill the contract and send her back to the human realm. The only problem is she doesnt understand what Hell wants with Jace. On all accounts he is kind, always helping others, and an all around nice guy. He also just happens to be gorgeous, sexy, and extremely good in bed. Jace has never met anyone quite like Faina. She matches his needs in the bedroom as well. Though he sometimes finds her elusive on providing answers to some personal questions, he cant help the fact that he is falling for her. Neither can Faina who starts to feels guilty about what she may have to do.

My Thoughts: What can be said except WOW!! Carolyn Rosewood started out the story with a bang. i always say, if you can get my attention in the first few pages, its a winner, and she had it and kept it. Mastema is your evil villain and she paints him so well that i was sitting there glaring at my kindle every time his name was brought up. You really feel for Faina cause her story is so sad and in your head you're secretly wishing something good will happen for her even if she comes off kinda ruthless at first. So when she is with Jace, who is your typical good guy you are rooting for them and hoping its not just cause of her demon powers. Let me tell you, there i some extremely hot scenes in this story that will burn the sheets. Rosewood managed to make this story intriguing, sexy, and at moments sweet. I cant wait to read the next one.

Review for What Money Can't Buy

Title: What Money Cant Buy
Author: Liz Borino

Description: What Money Can’t Buy, the sequel to Expectations, finds the two couples, Chris and Aiden and Matt and Carley, eagerly anticipating parenthood. However, their personal struggles continue. Though Matt overcame his dependency on alcohol, new temptations present themselves. And with Carley on bed rest, these temptations put a greater strain on their relationship. Chris continues to deal with issues regarding his father. These issues increase with greater proximity. When tragedy strikes, the best and worst in everyone is revealed. Can they stick together, or will their reactions tear them apart?

Summary: Matt, Chris, and Aiden are back and settling into houses of their own for their growing families. Chris and Aiden are taking care of the twin's father, though Chris still has a hard time with what was done to him. Meghan moved in with Chris and Aiden to be more comfortable while carrying their babies. Soon Aiden gets hurt and has to rest and cant dance till he is healed, but that comes at the worst time as he took on a special class. Sarah, the nurse to the twin's father, has something against Chris and Aidens relationship, but is starting to like  Matt. Then tragedy strikes for Chris and Aiden while Meghan is carrying the babies.Matt let go of his drinking and player ways once he fell for Carley, but now has another the beginnings of another addiction. Matt's girlfriend Carley, notices that Matt isn't acting quite himself so she starts thinking the worst in her hormonal, bed-ridden, pregnancy state.  So much so that the increase in her lack of trust may end up hurting their relationship.

My Thoughts: Oh Liz you did it again. The first book I was hesitant about, then couldn't get enough and wanted to jump right into the next. Then I start the second book and I was drawn in again. Liz Borino has evolved her characters more in this book. You went everywhere in this book with emotions. You felt the tender love between Chris and Aiden.I Sympathized with Carley but there were times when her over reactions got on my nerves. Matt has a bit of a bad rap since his last secret drinking problem is known which makes him feel ganged up on. I teared up when the incident with Meghan happened .And by the end I was at the edge of my seat clicking to get to the next page, holding my breath in hope, frustration, and by the end, ultimately joy. I for one can't wait for book three to see where Liz takes us all on our next journey into the boys lives.

KLB Virtual Tour for Ty Langston - Decadent Dreams Review

Title: Decadent Dreams
Author : Ty Langston
Blurb: Beth Mason seemingly has it all. A successful bakery/café called Decadent Dreams, good friends, and a nice home in Stamford, New York.
After her previous boyfriend dumped her six months before for not spending enough time with him, Beth decided that she had been through enough and wanted more in a relationship. Throwing herself back into the dating scene, Beth decided to go onto an online dating website called, ‘A Foreign Affair.’
Enjoying the different types of men from all over the world that ‘A Foreign Affair’ catered to, Beth became struck by a handsome man from Belarus named Yuri who was the former manager of the famed Rhapsody night club. After realizing that they had a lot in common, the two struck up a close, intense relationship.
Yuri, who’s been depressed since his nightclub burned to the ground and watching his best friend’s parents both die from a terminal illness, decided to take Beth up on an invite and join her for a fun-filled weekend in New York City.
With both of them full of emotions, will the weekend be just what they needed or more than they bargained for?

Published July 26th 2011
Lazyday Publishing
119 pages
Erotic Novella

My Thoughts: Beth was unlucky in the love department and way too busy with her bakery Decandent Dreams to look at possible relationship prospects, so she does the next best thing. She joins a dating site called " A Foreign Affair" where she meets Yuri. Beth and Yuri , who is from Belaruse,  talk online and Beth decides to invite him to New York to meet.
I have to say, I didn't love this book but I did enjoy it a lot.Slow in the beginning but the paced picked up the further you got into it. I haven't ventured to trying the online dating sites, but this story would have tempted me. However, I have fallen for guys across seas I met through online social networks, so I could relate to it in that sense. I thought they had great chemistry and passion in the room. There were plenty of hot sex scenes to burn the sheets.Though i will say i wanted to see a little more outside of the bedroom where we know they had great chemistry. Maybe a little more outside excursions around the city, they did manage to make it to a night club for some dancing. The way they fall in love was sweet and I was rooting for them the whole book.

Guest Post With Leslie Lee Sanders Author of Benefits of Sharing

United by Books is please to let Leslie Lee Sanders take over the blog of the day. She will be sharing with us The Benefit of Sharing.

Enter the Mysterious Character
There are times when writing a story, a character sneaks into the action and I wonder who this person is? Well, he's definitely the product of my imagination, but why is he here, in this story? He's cool, I think, so I'll give him a role and let him stay.
And that's when the magic happens. The more I write, the more I realize he was meant to be here. He's making the story so much more interesting. The funny thing is I have no idea who this person is. I lack sufficient information about him to understand his role in the story (at first), yet his presence is significant.
This is the mysterious character.
In my erotic romance, Benefits of Sharing, Isaac is that mysterious character. So mysterious, in fact, we're not given his last name. He's a young, attractive, a college freshman, Cara's husband's co-worker and that's pretty much all the information we have about him. However, he's so appealing, interesting, and charming that he's the center of attention.
We wonder, who is this Isaac and exactly how does he help Cara understand the benefits of "sharing"?

Benefits of Sharing
Genre: Erotica, erotic romance, ménage, contemporary
BUY LINK: Benefits of Sharing from Breathless Press

BLURB:

Cara Matthews is about to turn thirty, and for her, it’s the death of her youth and the beginning of the dull years. Her husband, James, is aware of her sudden grief and surprises her with something that should take her mind off of aging: young Isaac.
Maybe Isaac can help Cara create her very own wild and crazy experience to share—in more ways than one—and help her transition smoothly from her twenties to her thirties.
Cara is all too eager to finally experience the excitement she’s been desperately craving, but she’s also a little skeptical. Exactly who is Isaac, and why is he so eager to please?

EXCERPT:

"Hi," she greeted the delivery guy.
"Hello," he said with such a deep voice, she did a double take just to be sure the sound came from the tall young man standing before her. He smiled. "Cara Matthews? These are for you."
"Thank you." Her husband was definitely the best. Already his gift had cheered her up.
The delivery guy handed her the dark purple irises in their clear glass vase. They were her favorite color and flower. "There's a note in the middle for you." He beamed.
"Oh, I already know who they're from." She smiled again, said "thank you," closed the door, and turned to go back inside. Once in the kitchen, she set the flowers down on the center of the table and smelled a few of them. A fresh, sweet floral scent filled her nostrils. Perfect. She grabbed her cocoa and quickly drank the rest of it before washing the mug and putting it back in the cabinet. Then she sat down at the kitchen table before her leather-bound diary. She glanced at the flowers and the little white note that stuck up from the purple petals. She carefully plucked it out and read it.
We talked about the benefits of "sharing," and I think it's the perfect time to do just that. You deserve a special gift for a special day, and he's outside waiting for you. Now invite Isaac in, and be sure to thoroughly thank him. Happy birthday!
Love, James.
Cara read and reread James's message. Was she reading it clearly? They had talked about what fun it would be to invite someone into their bed for a threesome. They even laughed at how it could further strengthen their marriage, but she had thought the entire conversation was just a joke, a way of entertaining themselves. She turned the card over, expecting to read, Gotcha! I cheered you up, didn't I? But no such words were there. It was blank.
Isaac?
Was James serious?
Cara immediately went back to the front door and looked through the peephole again. There he was, the delivery guy, pacing back and forth on the porch.
"This must be a joke," she mumbled and cracked the door opened. She peeked through the slit. "Isaac?"
He grinned and stared at her with light brown eyes. "You gonna invite me in?"
"Who are you?" she asked, frowning, unsure.
"I'm Isaac. James sent me."
"For what?" Cara glared, waiting for him to confirm what was written on the note.
He laughed uneasily and whispered, "To help you feel better," then winked.
Although she was a bit hesitant, Isaac looked harmless and even a little tense. She opened the door wider to get a better look at the guy.

Guest Post With Darynda Jones and Giveaway

I would like to take the time to Welcome Darynda Jones to United By Books. I am so excited to have her on the page. Everyone, give Darynda a warm welcome. And now, onto the star of this post a lady I have admired, and a wonderful author.....here is Darynda Jones

Many people have asked if I am anything like the protagonist in my Charley Davidson series. While I would love to say I am exactly like her, alas, I do not sparkle or see dead people or usher souls into the light. But I do have ADD! That’s something, right? So I thought it would be fun to do a compare and contrast of an author and her creation.

Since we’ve already established that I don’t glow or talk to dead people, we can move past that and get to the good stuff.

Comparisons:
• Charley likes boys. I like boys!
• Charley named her breasts. I call mine the girls.
• Charley is into leather and boots. I am too, depending on the occasion.
• Charley wears a lot of black. I hardly have anything else.
• Charley has one tattoo. I have one tattoo.
• Charley loves all animals…except for poodles. ☺
• Charley loves coffee. I love coffee.
• Charley likes muscular men. I like muscular men. I know, it’s eerie.
• Charley gets distracted easily. I remember this one time…

Contrasts:
• Charley can withstand torture. I can withstand a hardy breeze.
• Charley can momentarily slow time. I can slow cook a pot roast.
• Charley has a killer death stare. I have more of a sickly, annoying stare.
• Charley makes jeans look good. I make chocolate cake look good. You know, with sprinkles and stuff.
• Charley helps people cross to the other side. I help people cross the street.
• Charley solves crimes. I solve word puzzles.
• Charley has gold eyes. I have gold salad tongs.
• Charley invites trouble. I invite people to lunch.
• Charley will save the world from total destruction. I will save twenty percent on my next visit to The Buckle.

So, as you can see, while Charley and I do share some qualities, she is pretty much her own girl. Strong. Independent. In need of medication. Maybe we have more in common that I thought.
Thank you so much for having me, Lindsey!!!

Thanks again so much for paying us a visit today on the page it was a pleasure having you here with us as im sure everyone will agree.

Review for The Perfect Rose

Title: The Perfect Rose
Author: Felicia Rogers

Description: Abandoned by his wife and left to raise a child alone, Caleb Reed falls short of the ideal work-from-home dad. He needs a woman to help him, in every sense of the word. At the suggestion of a friend, Caleb agrees to hire Ariel Lauren on a trial basis.

As an orphan, Ariel has more issues than just how to make it on her on. Yes, she needs the money that Caleb offers her, but more than anything she finds she desires his love. One calamity after another befalls her and jeopardizes her new job and her chance at having a family. But through it all, Caleb is by her side, his gruff exterior threatening to melt in the face of their shared attraction. Will they decide to continue life alone or will the magic of Valentine's Day bring them together?

Summary: Meddling Mabel tells Caleb of Ariel when he is looking for a housekeeper thinking they need each other equally for different reasons. So when Ariel turns up for an interview, she is not what Caleb expects.Instead of being old, feeble, and grey, she is young, beautiful, and vibrant, yet there is a certain sadness in her eyes. Caleb agrees to take Ariel on a trial basis, but cant shake the growing attraction.Caleb's son Joshua grows fond of Ariel and she of him, which is why her growing feelings for Caleb scares her. Ariel is worried that if she gives into them and it doesnt work out, then she will have to leave her job and Joshua whom she has grown so attached to. Both Caleb and Ariel try to resist their feelings for different reasons, then before you know it their lips meet.

My Thoughts: Felicia Rogers brought a sweet and tender book to us all in The Perfect Rose. I started it late one night thinking I would just read a few pages since I had work early the next morning and before I knew it I couldn't stop reading. I fell in love with Caleb and Ariel's story and adored Joshua, Meddling Mabel also has a spot in my heart cause we all have one of her around. You could relate with the characters in Caleb's case once burned, twice shy. Then you have Ariel who never knew what love and family were. I found myself rooting for Caleb and Ariel overcoming their issues, and ill admit to having a cheesey grin off and on during the story. Overall, I thought the story came together beautifully. Rogers has definitely been added to the list of authors I will be reading.
