Title:
A Vampire's Salvation
Author: Virna DePaul
Description: Jacob La Costa
Rios is the head of the California governor’s security team; he’s also a vampire
who wants the governor, a presidential hopeful, to support the peaceful
integration of vampires into human society. Unfortunately, there are others who
oppose Jake’s plan. Plus, Jake’s a little distracted by discovering his one true
mate, the human female who can give him everything he’s always wanted: love,
children, and continuing immortality. Francesca Marie Stewart is the governor’s
“go-green” political consultant.
Although she’s been attracted to Jake
from day one, her priority is her career and protecting her heart. But then Jake
blatantly propositions her and Frankie, who hasn’t experienced sexual intimacy
since she was seventeen-years-old, decides it’s time to take what she
wants—within reason. No matter—once Jake makes love to Frankie, he knows reason
will be the farthest thing from her mind. Then he just has to eliminate the
person threatening her, reveal the fact he’s a vampire, and convince her that
trusting him will bring both of them eternal happiness.
Word count:
approx. 24,912
My Thoughts: In DePaul's newest series, you will run into
Frankie and Jake in the first novella. Frankie is a tree hugging
environmentalist that works for the governor and meets Jake, the new head of
security, 6 months earlier. Despite working together daily, she thinks he
doesn't notice her. In reality, he noticed her the moment she said hi to him and
knew she was his. You see Jake isn't your typical alpha male hero. No, he is a
200 year old hunky vampire. Not only that, Jake knows he has to gain Frankie's
trust thanks to a previous experience when she was 17 that left her with a scar
on her face. Now that he has
his mate in sight, taking it at her pace is the
least of his worries as you will come to find out.
The good thing about
DePaul's short novella, besides the sexual tension that oozes as you read, is
the fact that Frankie and Jake have six months that they have known each other.
If it was any other short novella and they just met I would find it difficult to
follow. Jake is hot, hunky, and a softy towards his woman. However if you aren't
Frankie, you don't want to be on his bad side, especially if you are trying to
harm her.
Frankie is strong in the sense that she doesn’t let an episode
that left her scarred emotionally and physically rule her life. She is also a
bit shy, but well liked. She did frustrate me with certain actions. I still
enjoyed her.
The scenes were steamy. There is romance and mystery that
makes you want to see what happens next with the way the book ended. I was able
to read this novella in one sitting. The only thing I can say is I wish it was a
chapter or two longer to make accepting that Jake is a vampire more believable.
Other than that I enjoyed this passionate love quite a bit and can't wait to see
what's next in this series.

Review for A Howl For A Highlander by Terry Spear
Title:
A Howl For A Highlander
Author: Terry Spear
Description: A Highland Wolf on a Mission...
Duncan MacNeill is hell-bent on catching the thief who's stolen the clan's fortune and run off to Grand Cayman Island. Duncan has rarely left his homeland and he couldn't care less about an island paradise. He never expected to find a beautiful distraction who would show him just how appealing paradise could be.
Meets a Dangerous Distraction...
Lone wolf and botanist Shelley Campbell headed to the island to study the old growth forests. She didn't count on meeting a handsome Highlander who can't keep his paws off her.
My Thoughts: Duncan is on a mission to get his clans money back from a con-artist who must not have realized that he has stolen from a wolf clan. To top it off, the con-artist is a wolf. Duncan, the youngest of the MacNeill clan, has left his home in Scotland for the Grand Caymans. He can't afford to be distracted as his family is depending on him. What he wasn't expecting was Shelley Campbell, a botanist professor and sassy she-wolf that hits him with instant chemistry after he tracks down her scent straight out of the airport. Once Shelley realizes who he is she gives him a little hell since her family was kicked out of the highlands due to the higher up. Yet she still agrees to his lift and going for a drink later that night. Once she sees her grant money has been embezzled, she also lends him a room with a price of course. Duncan will pay half the costs to stay and together they will partner up to track down the scoundrel who stole their funds.

Spear's
delivers another fix to my addiction of her wolves. If you have not checked out
any of Spear's wolves you are seriously missing out especially if you are a
hardcore shifter girl like me. This is the tenth book in the series and though
you get revisits from previous characters, I think it's written well enough to
be read as a standalone. These books are just so delightful I would go back and
read the rest just to enjoy each delicious read for its own context.
Shelley
is sassy, smart and playful. She is loyal to her family but feels an instant
sizzling connection to Duncan. She knew her family wouldn't thoroughly enjoy
them connecting, even for something innocent as drinks, since they were kicked
out of the highlands thanks to their rank. It might not have been “his” family
but you know the whole guilty by association thing comes into play.
Duncan....
oh Duncan, I can just hear that sexy Scottish brogue with your smexy self in my
head as I was reading. No wonder there was instant passion between him and
Shelley. It was burning up the pages under my fingers. Duncan is also fierce
when it comes to making sure other males know Shelley is his. One in particular,
happens to be the villain they are after.
I loved
the sexual tension building up and then explode into such passionate steamy sex.
I kinda wish it had been drawn out a wee bit more. That being said, Spear made
it up to me by a whole bunch of hotness on my pages filled with tender romance
that made me swoon. I am never disappointed reading one of this author's books.
I always crave them more and want my next fix faster.

Review for Demon Hunting in the Deep South by Lexi George
Title: Demon Hunting in the Deep South
Author: Lexi George
Description: The warrior and the wallflower.
Shy, self-conscious Evie Douglass tries to stay under the radar, especially when her nemesis Meredith Peterson, aka The Death Starr, is anywhere around. Meredith and her bitch posse of skinny girlfriends have tormented Evie since the seventh grade, calling her names like The Whale and Thunder Thighs.
Evie tries to stay invisible, but that’s not an easy thing for a plus-sized gal to do in a small town like Hannah, Alabama. She finds it doubly hard to avoid Meredith’s wrath once she takes a job at the lumber mill. You see, Meredith’s husband is Evie’s new boss. Translation: more torture time for The Death Starr.
Evie thinks things couldn’t get much worse until the morning she finds Meredith’s bloody body sprawled across her desk. Typical Meredith, she gets herself dead mere days after a very public scene in which Meredith accuses Evie of having an affair with her husband. Worse, the murder weapon is found in Evie’s car.
Suddenly, Evie is the Number One suspect in a sensational murder case. But she’s got bigger problems. Hannah is infested with demons—soul sucking, body snatching creatures of evil—and, for some reason, they want Evie. The only thing standing between Evie and death or possible possession is a hunky blond demon slayer named Ansgar.
Ansgar is a Dalvahni warrior, a supernaturally gorgeous race whose sole purpose is to hunt down and capture rogue demons.
Evie could almost swear that Ansgar is interested in more than demons. He seems interested in her. Ridiculous, of course, because he’s sex on two legs and she is…
Well, she’s Whaley Douglass.
To add to Evie’s troubles, Meredith doesn't even have the decency to stay dead. She shows back up as a ghost and she’s more of a beyotch than ever. Meredith has deathnesia—she can't remember who killed her—leaving Evie to solve the mystery herself, or go to jail for a murder she didn't commit.
My Thoughts: I would like to first state that I jumped in without reading book one. Though I had no problem following the book and falling in love with the characters, I will be going back and reading book one. Mainly because I have to read Addy's story since I think she is my kinda heroine, but also because I believe you get insight on Evie and Ansgar's beginning.
Evie happened to show up at her office and find the nemesis, that made her life hell by picking on her, murdered. Not only that, but they made it look like she took out the "Death Starr”. Ansgar jumps in and rescues Evie before she makes a bigger mistake. Who would think shy, no confidence Evie could kill another human being? As small towns goes, Hannah, Alabama residents are on the spunky side with a whole lot of supernatural. After months of not feeling anything, Ansgar makes Evie come back to life. It's just too bad that she is having all these feelings while she may go to jail for murder. Fighting against the clock, or should I say bars slamming, they set out to prove it wasn't her while the relationship, love, and passion grows.
George has strong characters in both leading and secondary roles. Like I said, I will be going back to read Addy's book because she had me rolling in laughter with the things that came out of her mouth. As for this book, Evie was more of a subdued leading lady, but she held her own. Normally, if a character isn't as fierce as I’d like, I get bored easily. You can say in this case, Evie was well written as she didn't irk me. Instead, I felt myself connecting and relating to her.

Oh Ansgar, you are a sexy beast of a demon hunter. You can
sense the love and passion between him and Evie from the beginning even though
Evie doesn't remember it. Her body and heart haven’t forgotten the past (another
reason to read book one).
This was a bit of a murder mystery thrown in
with a side of laughter and a whole lot of romance and some passionate
encounters. George also leaves an opening for future stories. I for one can't
wait for a certain demoniod to bring a certain leader to his knees, as well as a
sexy sheriff’s story to come into play. If George keeps with her unique blend of
humor and smexy characters, she has a winner with this series. I can see myself
re-reading these books.

Review for Heart Ache (Bound by a Touch #1) by Morgan Kearns
Title: Heart Ache (Bound by a Touch #1)
Author: Morgan Kearns
Description: One Touch
Gabrielle Ryan felt an electric attraction to her new employer the first time he reached out and shook her hand. She dreams of him, fantasizes about him, but all Nikolai wants is an assistant—and to Gabby’s chagrin, it’s not to assist him with taking off his pants!
One Beat
An ache has inhabited Nikolai Voinea’s chest for the last four hundred years. Yet stubbornly resolute not to repeat his father’s mistakes, Nikolai refuses to take the one female who is his heart’s greatest desire.
Captures His Heart Forever
When murder charges make Gabby second guess everything she knows about him, she’s hurt and angry and determined to walk away. But Nikolai’s just as determined to do everything within his power to keep her.
My Thoughts: Ever since one hand shake three years ago Niko knew he found his heartmate . Only he vowed never to be like his dad and was waiting for Gabby to come to him and admit her feelings. Gabby has had a thing for Niko from the beginning, but she is waiting for him to make a move. Since she doesn't want to be the girl who fell for the boss. Gabby doesn't believe it will ever happen and so agrees to marry another. Niko still wanting her to come to him herself is beside himself as time is running out to win her over.
I am not going to lie, there were times I wanted to pull my hair out and throw my Kindle at the wall. When it seemed both leading characters had their heads up their butts, and to save my Kindle I would shut it off and put it down, but it was as if I needed my next fix because a minute later frustrated and all I would pick it back up to resume reading. That being said means Kearn did her job as an author. She had me fully involved and feeling emotions which is what you are supposed to experience as a reader. It would be pretty boring if all you felt was oh that was nice. With Heart Ache I was on an emotional roller coaster all the way till the end and even dealing with the frustration part it was worth it. I even kept going to Kearns page writing updates. One of them where I breathed a sigh of relief went : did you hear that it's the glory glory hallelujah song because *cough* Niko*cough* finally got his head out his butt ok I might have said the word that starts with A and ends with ss.
Gabby drove me crazy because she was so clearly in love with Niko but waited for some sign or hint he may feel the same but then when it happened it was like a up and down thing where yes I love him but I'm so mad at him I wanted to be like let it go already but towards the end she changed my mind about her to I really like her. I mean she reads vampire romances what's not to like right? Ok that aside she was easy to accept what was happening and she went through some stuff with some courageously strong willpower that would break a person which also made my heart break reading it but I was so proud of how she handled it. Yes I know she is a fictional character thus it's in the beauty of Kearns writing that established my emotions .
Niko was smexy vampire who found his heartmate and I wanted to grab him and shake him a few times ok quite a bit. It's that darn honorable side of him that held him back wanting her to come to him on her own free will to admit her feeling when all I wanted was him to take what he wanted and ask questions later. When it finally did start going my way I was a happy camper.
Then when everything was right it my world of Niko and Gabby some psycho come to light because she can't face facts that she was tossed aside mind you hecka yrs ago since Niko must have the magic stick and she has obviously lost a few marbles therefore making the perfect villain not to mention she is a completely sick and twisted individual.
Kearns got my attention with this book. I loved the roller coaster I was on . I value an author that can make me feel strong emotions and she has. Plus I did not want to put the book down even if I wanted to chuck it at the characters fictional heads. I am pretty sure Stephon and Elisabeth are book two but I am kinda anxious for Vincent or Gustav (vampire whore opposed to man whore or playboy) to have a story out like yesterday. So Kearns please hurry up and write them I am anxiously waiting here.

Review for A Jaguar's Kiss by Katie Reus
Title: A Jaguar's Kiss
Author: Katie Reus
Description: Owen Wright, alpha of his wolf pack, hasn’t seen jaguar shifter Gabriela Segura in nearly ten years. She was his first love—until he did something to drive her away just as their relationship was heating up. Now Gabriela has returned to Montana, and his craving for her is stronger than ever .
But a recent string of brutal attacks on humans have the wolves suspicious of the jaguars, threatening the tenuous peace between the packs. Before he can claim Gabriela as his mate, they must join forces to prove her family’s innocence and track down the true predator
My Thoughts: Returning home after ten years away for a much needed break, Gabriela who happens to be a C.I.A Agent last mission went awry and left her shaken. Sure she isn't to thrilled about possibly running into her ex.... the one who broke her teenage heart all those years ago, but nothing a little avoidance can't help. Only she didn't realize she was coming home to a lot of suspicions aimed at the Jaguars in the town which happen to be her family.Owen who is the alpha of the pack for Bear Mountain has not forgotten the one girl who he fell for. She has remained in his thoughts. Although, Owen knows it will be hard to convince Gabriela of what they can have in the middle of trying to prove her family is innocent to the pack. He does know that he is not willing to lose her again.

Ok where to begin.....First I love shifter books. In this case, it has a
mix of both of my favorite sexy wolf in Owen and fierce jaguar in Gabriela. Reus
does manage to draw me into a world full of high emotions, love that was never
lost, and passion. Since this is a novella it is a short which makes the fact
that the characters have a prior history which is a great addition. Owen is so
freakin' alpha in all his sexiness, and there is also a soft and sweet side for
Gabriela. He has always wondered what happened, but has determination to win
Gabriela back that makes you get a happy feeling inside. Gabriela is the leading
lady and I really enjoyed her role. She is fierce! A fighter! She is willing to
do what it takes for those she loves. When her and Owen come together it is
pretty steamy. I loved how Reus made this novella suspenseful and intriguing
with trying to figure it out the mystery. Normally, if I can figure it out in
the beginning I would be bored. This time Reus had me guessing till the end and
I liked the final outcome. I will say I enjoyed the whole book and with a bit
more action from the villains it would have been insanely good, but for a
novella Reus rocked it.

Review for Immortal Surrender by Claire Ashgrove
Title: Immortal Surrender (The Curse of the Templars # 2)
Author: Claire Ashgrove
Description: Farran de Clare, loyal member of the cursed Knights Templar, wants nothing to do with predestined mates. Even the Almighty won’t turn him into a fool again—he’d rather sacrifice his soul. Yet in the scientist Noelle Keane, a devout atheist, Farran meets the seraph designed for him.
Ordered by the archangel Gabriel to protect Noelle, the possessor of a sacred relic that could give Azazel incredible power, Farran swears to do his duty—but in name only. Fighting an attraction that grows with each day, he’s determined that he’ll never pledge himself to her.
As they war over her future, their mutual passion ignites a conflict far more damning. But before Noelle will agree to eternity with him, she demands the ultimate sacrifice – his heart
My Thoughts: Noelle Keane a Non-Believer of all things God ,was given a very important task to carbon date a sacred relic that her long time friend Gabriel brought her. As she produces the information to verify it is the real deal then she must return it to it's rightful place. Just not before the meddling Gabriel gives her a gift of the Seraph Torc. Of course she doesn't know that. She just knows she can't get the blasted thing off and that Gabriel is making her have bodyguards . One of them being the oh so smexy yet eternally grumpy Farran. Farran who is about to find out that she is one of the prophesied Seraphs. Unknown to him, she also bears his mark, and therefore she is his. Farran doesn't want a seraph he had already been burned by a woman and already accepted the inevitable, which is dying fighting against the Azazel .Yet, he agrees to take the oath. Just not pledge his loyalty. Noelle first off thinks he is crazy, and won't take a vow she doesn't mean with her full heart.
Let me start with this; it is my first trip into the Templars but will not be the last. I plan on going back and reading book one. Although, you can read this book as a stand alone and will have no trouble following it. I will say you get to see more of the characters from book one which will make it a case of you don't need to read book one but will want to go back to see what you missed.I really enjoyed my visit into this world.
Farran you are one sexy Templar, but you had me wanting to pull my hair out and yell at you myself in person. In a case of once burned, twice shy you took it to a level beyond that. You had me gnawing at the bit to gripe at you in certain instances and then you do a complete turn and I see swoon moments . While I really enjoyed Noelle; she was a strong character who you really enjoyed after you got over her self doubt about her looks but let's face it... That made her more real. Because as I see it, we all doubt our looks especially if we hadn't impressed guys in the past and here before us is a super smexy smoldering brute with a chip on his shoulder that we think wouldn't look twice at us. As Ashgroves writing progressed and both characters grew I fell in love with all in the story. Noelle held her own and got even stronger as the book went on . The slow build up to the passion between Farran and Noelle had me anxious for the big moment. You still enjoy all the background characters and try to think who you would like to see next get their story told. I also enjoyed the action and villains that Asgrove gave us. I had a hard time breaking away from the book to get cleaning and errands done myself, but I love a book that can hold me like that and Ashgrove delivered it. Now, I will anxiously read book one and am looking forward to book three. Please don't make us wait too long before we can journey back into this world of the fierce Templars and their amazing Seraphs.

Review for Howl For It by Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden
Title: Howl For It
Authors: Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden
Description: They hunger for your pleasure. They growl for your touch. And in these sizzling stories by New York Times bestselling author Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden, these sexy wolf shapeshifters are lust at first bite. . .
"Like A Wolf With A Bone" by Shelly Laurenston
Quiet little Darla Lewis couldn't be happier when the most-feared member of the South's rowdiest pack kidnaps her. A girl gets real tired of being overprotected by her own shifter family, and there's nothing like an oh-so-big bad wolf to start a pack feud, unleash her instincts--and have her surrender however and whenever she wants. . .
"Wed Or Dead" by Cynthia Eden
Gage Ryder knew his human bride had a wild side. But spending their honeymoon night on the run from hunters out to finish him and his pack is sure not the kind of fun he was looking forward to. No problem--Gage will do whatever it takes to lay bare Kayla's secrets and find the truth. If he can keep from being captured by his own seductive game. . .
My Thoughts: Let's start with "Like A Wolf With A Bone" by Shelly Laurenston. Egbert Smith, better known as Eggie, is sent on leave since all the shifters in his platoon are on edge around him after recent incidents. Not wanting to, but with no choice, he heads home. Darla May is also sent on vacation from her job, even though she doesn't want to be and doesn’t know why, and heads home. While waiting for his brothers as they argued with their wives, who happen to be Darla's sisters, he catches site of Darla. In his eyes, she is the prettiest, ok most beautiful, she-wolf he has ever seen. Darla wanders off and next thing you know she is in a life or death situation. Eggie, being the lethal marine he is, comes to her rescue. From there, Eggie brings Darla back with him and will do anything to protect her. Plus she seems to be the only one who can calm him and she isn't scared of him like most everyone around him, including his family. Darla has stirrings of her own and a protective side to match where Eggie is concerned. She won't let anyone speak a bad thing against him.
I loved this story. I've been a Shelly Laurenston fan since I got into paranormal romance. Eggie is your classic alpha, but is more of a loner in a way. When he is with Darla is the only time you see the other side to Eggie, the side one would never know about under the lethal killing machine. Darla was always thought of as fragile, but she turns out to be this big bad wolf. Darla May is sweet and her personality is addicting. There was never a dull moment in this story. You got the full Laurenston hillbilly southern sense of humor that will have you laughing your tail off, literally. It also has some steamy scenes and will have you cheering this couple on the whole story.
Next is "Wed or Dead", where Kayla’s mission is to get close to Gage at any cost. Gage just happens to be a wolf shifter and Kayla isn't a big fan of wolf shifters after an incident when she was younger. As a matter if fact, she has made it her mission to kill any supernatural being that harms people. Gage wants Kayla to be his and after getting her down the aisle to say "I do" she is, though she is in for a rude awakening and it’s not going to come from the man married. The man whom she is supposed to hate, but instead lusts after.
I will honestly say I love Cynthia Eden's books. I was a bit nervous on how, after having a rip-roaring not wanting it to end time with Laurenston's story, if Cynthia's would be just as good. I should have known this duo never fails me. It’s probably why I always buy their joint anthologies.
In “Wed or Dead”, Eden brings steamy hotness to an action filled story. I loved the strong kick ass heroine, who has a vulnerable edge, but still goes after what she lusts, loves and feels is right. Gage is just one sexy beast and the two of them together are combustible at times. I wasn't expecting the betrayal in one part of it, so I admit I gasped and had a little inner outrage on behalf of the leading lady.
I loved both stories quite a bit. You can never go wrong with a book containing these two amazing authors. Both bring different things to the table and are both equally worth devouring. In my eyes, this is definitely worth a read.

Review for Fear The Darkness by Alexandra Ivy
Title: Fear the Darkness
Author: Alexandra Ivy
Description: The Guardians of Eternity are embroiled in an epic battle for survival. They are as dangerous as they are sensual—and their lustful appetites are legendary...
Her Visions Lead Her To Danger
Beautiful Cassandra is a Were, a prophet both vulnerable and defiant, blessed with visions that portend the fate of the world. A rare and delicate creature, Cassie must be protected at all costs. Enter Caine, a powerful cur turned pureblooded Were whose recent tangles with a demon lord have left him in serious need of redemption. Caine is duty-bound to keep Cassie out of danger—and that means resisting his potent urge to seduce her.
And Only He Can Save Her
As Cassie's mysterious visions lead them in and out of danger, Caine believes he has found his true mate, the woman with whom he is bound for all eternity. Cassie is both charmed and frightened by Caine's magnetism, and unsure if he—or her feelings for him—can be trusted. But Cassie can't afford to doubt Cain now. A deadly enemy bent on destruction is closer than they realize—and only they can keep chaos from ruling the world.
My Thoughts: How I love Alexandra Ivy's “Guardians of Eternity” series. This is book 9 in one of my most beloved series to read. If you have not checked out the entire series, you may want to pick it up.
“Fear the Darkness” is Cassie and Caine’s book. Cassie is the prophet, one to be protected above all. She has been a captive of the dark lord until, in an act of unselfishness, Caine, the bad guy cur turned swoon-worthy pureblood Were, gave his life to protect her. This act is how he becomes a pureblood.
After not dying, he does everything he can to protect Cassie while trying to fight the attraction between them. The dark lord will do anything to get out of the trap of the undergrounds and has big plans to succeed. With war a possibility and needing to keep the human race from the knowledge of their existence, the Guardians unite to form a front protecting everyone from Hell on Earth.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved how naïve Cassie teased, never taking herself too seriously, and showed her strength when needed. Caine, was a guy I loved to dislike. In this book, I did a reverse. I found him strong and fiercely protective, yet tender and gentle with Cassie. Theirs is a low simmering passion from the beginning of the book that turns into a few hot flash scenes.
I will say a majority of the story was focused on the dark lord more so than anything. You also get to see quite a bit of your favorite characters from the past, plus get introduced to a new guy. That being said, do I think these things took away from the book? No, not really. I think it's Ivy's master plan to keep us on the edge of our seats. I know I am already anxious for the next installment.
This book was jam packed with romance, (even if it's not as much as normal), action, and some great battles. Ivy has reeled me in, hooking me back into the “Guardians of Eternity” series. I know in the last book I wanted more Levet... some things never change. We got more of that loveable gargoyle and I still wanted even more of him. “Guardians of Eternity” should be read as a series or you may get a bit lost in “Fear the Darkness“, so start at the beginning. Alexandra Ivy has been one of my favorite authors and keeps producing winners in this series.

Review for Seduced by Blood by Laurie London
Title: Seduced by Blood
Author: Laurie London
Description: Deep within the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the battle for supremacy rages on between two vampire coalitions: Guardian enforcers sworn to protect humanity, and Darkbloods, rogues who kill like their ancient ancestors... Hot-blooded and hard-edged, Tristan Santiago has an uncanny ability to see beneath the surface-a power that serves him well as the Guardians' region commander. But when a deadly plot against his fellow vampires is uncovered, he must turn to the one woman he can't read: the beautiful yet mysterious Roxanne Reynolds, whose sensual presence soothes his tormented memories. Roxy had put love before duty once before, with devastating results. But to root out a dangerous traitor in their midst, she must put her faith in Santiago, the one man skilled enough to break through her defenses. Posing as lovers, Santiago and Roxy work side by side-and discover a powerful craving that threatens to consume them both...
My Thoughts: The “Sweetblood Series” returns with a bang. The Sweetblood/ Darkblood battle rages on. In this book, Roxanne Reynolds fills in for one of her previous students and good friend, Lily, so that Lily and Alfonso can go on vacation to celebrate their engagement. On her way up, she encounters a Sweetblood and helps him by taking out the Darkbloods after him, with no weapons none the less. Santiago is impressed with her abilities and feels stirrings of desire, but pushes them out of his head. Santiago is hardcore, hot headed, and a mystery to most, but respected by those he leads. When he says do something, he expects it done no questions asked. Roxy doesn't play by those rules, after all he isn’t her boss, and she has no problem standing up to him.
After a botched mission and some of his people getting injured, they suspect a mole in the Guardians. To suss out the mole, Santiago tells Roxy she is to pose as his girlfriend to help solve this mystery. He doesn’t want to believe a Guardian could really be the mole, but has no other theory as to why the mission went south. At first Roxy said no, but changes her mind because she saw something in Santiago, plus it is a way to further her side investigation, (her past relationship and hopefully closure). What occurs is the pretend relationship winds up being a battle of wits, not to mention sexual tension turning up from so much closeness. You get some deep feelings with some hot sexual encounters as they both strive to battle the demons of their pasts, to heal, and finally move on.
This is the fourth book and in this book we get Santiago's story. I would say it could be read as a stand alone, but it would be enriched more if you read the books leading up to "Seduced by Blood". That way you can get a feel for Santiago in previous books and a deeper understanding of him as a character. I really enjoyed London's newest installment into the Sweetblood world. You have all the things you love such as alpha male, strong heroine, villains you love to hate, mystery and action. Santiago and Roxy give a whole new meaning to "opposites attract". Roxy is a bit of a loner at first. Sweet, tender, and caring, she takes no BS and stands up for what she believes in. Santiago is hotheaded, prone to temper tantrums when things don't go according to plan and tortures himself for what he sees as “failings“.
I loved reading the banter between the two. It was a true battle of wits when they are pretending to be together. The sex scenes are steamy and the tender feelings between the two wrapped this story up with a nice bow, even if they fought them for a while. You also get to see a bit of the villain, Ventra. Now that is one evil, hussy of a vampire with some real sick tendencies. I rooted on the things the Guardians were doing, yet Ventra is written just right that even I going back and forth. Thinking one minute what a sick sucker she is to “Geeze I feel sorry for her past”, then I would remember why I love to hate her and those feelings of empathy would vanish.
London did not disappoint with this installment at all. She gives us sexy males we love to swoon over and want make our own, as well as ladies who are strong with traits we can see in ourselves or aspire to be, except for Ventra not sure anyone would want to be her. The Sweetblood series is never dull or boring. There is always action and you will find yourself cheering until the end. This book leaves us with a promise as to what is next and I can’t wait to see what London has in store for us. As for now, I was definitely “Seduced by Blood” into loving this couple’s installment and will be counting the days until I can get my next Sweetblood fix.... not with fangs or anything... oh you know what I mean.

Review for Seduce ( Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance # 3) by Felicity Heaton
Title: Seduce ( Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance # 3)
Author: Felicity Heaton
Description: Bloodlust runs in his veins, a dark master waiting for the day it will reign over him. Now a woman with a pure soul and wicked intentions has him in her sights and is determined to crack the ice around his heart, and she might save or damn him.
Author: Felicity Heaton
Description: Bloodlust runs in his veins, a dark master waiting for the day it will reign over him. Now a woman with a pure soul and wicked intentions has him in her sights and is determined to crack the ice around his heart, and she might save or damn him.
Antoine stands apart from the world around him, a dangerous and broken soul who must maintain rigid control at all times or risk his dark addiction finally seizing hold of him. The shadows of his past haunt him and he sees his bleak future each night when his brother wakes screaming, his blood addiction turning him savage. He cannot allow himself to feel, but when Sera walks into Vampirerotique, the erotic theatre he runs with three other vampires, to audition, she awakens dangerous desires in him—hungers that could spell the end of both of them.
Sera has wanted Antoine since the night she first saw the gorgeous aristocrat vampire. She can’t ignore the deep carnal hunger he stirs in her or the ache to know the heat of his touch. With the help of her sire, an ex-performer at Vampirerotique, she sets in motion a game of seduction, one designed to thaw the ice in Antoine’s veins and make him burn for her.
When Sera discovers the shocking truth about his past and the darkness that lurks within him, will she be strong enough to seize his heart with both hands and win him forever or will she lose him to the ghosts that still haunt him?
My Thoughts: Sera had her eyes set on Antoine from the moment she saw him. Despite being warned off the emotionally aloof vampire, she just couldn't let go of the possibilities and feelings she had for him. So what's a girl to do? Well, seduce him of course, but to do that she has to find a way to get him alone and have his attention focused on her.
Antoine has burned before. He holds himself apart from everyone except his brother, Snow and the few people he considers good friends. Yet while watching Sera perform, and knowing her game, fight as he may he begins to succumb to the feelings she is awakening not only in his body, but in his heart as well.
Welcome back to Book Three in the “Vampire Erotic Theatre” series, where you can't get enough of the sexy owners or the ladies who get under their skin.
I loved Sera. She was determined, yet sweet . She knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it, even though she might get hurt laying herself out there. I respect that in a character and a person. It made her more real in my eyes.
I had no idea there were secrets to Antoine. I always wondered what his story would be, but had no idea what to expect. After all, he is completely gorgeous and fierce. He always held a bit back, but was strong when he needed to be in the previous stories. This book lays it out and soon you will see the other side of him.
The passion is so flaming hot, you will sizzle as each page is turned. Be it rough and wild or tender and sensual, you feel that passion as it builds between them down to your core. You start rooting for more, rooting for Sera and Antoine ,because they steal your heart.
Once again Heaton doesn't fail to make you love “Vampirerotique”. Not only that, but Heaton makes you fall in love with all her characters, main or secondary. Did I mention I love how Snow was present quite a bit in “Seduce”, but still Felicity is only building the fire, teasing us until she is ready to set us ablaze with anticipation for his story. I, for one, am Seduced by this series and eager for more.

Review for Playing For Keeps (Seduced by a Demon # 3) by Carolyn Rosewood
Title: Playing For Keeps (Seduced by a Demon # 3)
Author : Carolyn Rosewood
Description: Damien Walker has just hired a sexy new bartender, and landed himself trouble with a capital T.
Teresa's on the run, but from something more sinister than human law. She's a demon on the lam from Hell, trying to hide away in this sleepy town. A job in Damien's bar seems the perfect cover. He doesn't ask questions and he's great eye-candy too. What could be better?
But Teresa isn't the only one with a secret identity and a past they'd rather not remember. Damien knows exactly who and what she is because he'd hunted demons before and old habits die hard.
What's a Nephilim bounty hunter to do when one white-hot little devil walks into his bar and turns his quiet life upside down? She's a complication he could do without. She's also irresistible.
So she wants to cause him trouble? That's nothing compared to what he can do to her
My Thoughts: Oh Carolyn, how I love your “Seduced by a Demon” Series. This one is right up there with the rest. Though this is book 3 in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. However, I highly recommend this series. I have read and reviewed the others and loved them all.
In "Playing for Keeps" we get Teresa's story. Teresa is the demon we love to hate though in this book you will see that she is not all we believed her to be. Teresa hides her fears behind her sexuality. Sure she is strong and very sexual, but underneath it all, she is tender and caring. Right now though, she is on the run and very scared.
She just happens to pop into Damien's life and although he knows he shouldn't help her, he can’t help himself. He sees through her facade and makes her tell him the truth, as well as tell her that as long as she doesn’t use her sexuality on him, she can stay. Damien’s already gotten into a bunch of trouble once before thanks to a his previous indiscretions with one of her kind. The problem is that he wants Teresa and he sees she is nothing like the past.
With Damien, Teresa feels safer than she ever has before. The time she has spent with him, brings out a better side of her. So much so, she is ready to put others in ahead of herself, even if that means turning herself in to face the consequences of her actions and confront the wrong doings of her past.
I keep thinking I will find a fault in a story I read from Rosewood, but everything I have read by her I have really enjoyed. I wanted to hate Teresa, but then I found myself connecting with her and rooting on her relationship with Damien. In book Two, I was real mad at Teresa for what she did to Jahi. It says a lot when you go from hoping she gets what she deserves to actually liking the character and hoping for the best for them. In this book Rosewood did that for me. Damien is smexy and the passion and sex between the two sizzle the kindle pages. I loved how Teresa and Damien balance each other out. I can't wait to read more of Carolyn’s work. I also wonder if there are more books coming for this series because that would be great. If not, she ended this series with a great note and I for one am "Playing for Keeps" with this read.

Review for Hadyn Heat (One) - The Urge by Betty Midnight and Ava Michaels
Title: Hadyn Heat (One) - The Urge
Authors: Betty Midnight and Ava Michaels
Description: As a man and as a wolf, Hadyn has been trying to control his urges.
After catching the scent of a beautiful woman named Sarah, Hadyn finds her and loses all control of his urges.
The pleasure was great, but the mistake was greater, for an evil man has been lurking for a long time, hoping to take control of the world. After kidnapping Sarah, the destructive man named Valon now can finalize his own plan: to have Hadyn mate with his daughter.
He uses Sarah and her lust for Hadyn to draw him in.
The urges grow worse for Hadyn and it seems nobody can stop him, not even his roommate and secret lover, another male wolf named Taylor.
The fate of Hadyn, Sarah, his pack, and the world are in the balance… but can he control his desperate sexual urges long enough to save it all?
My Thoughts: Hadyn just turned to maturing age for werewolves which leaves him with constant urges. Taylor, his roommate, also just hit the age and they both help try to ease the urges. Taylor feels a bit more for Haydn even though Haydn cares for and loves him back. Taylor wants Haydn to be his one true mate. One night Hadyn catches a scent and follows his instincts into the woods where he comes across Sarah. The attraction flares up instantly and before you know it, Hadyn has her hard and fast . Once done he is gone in a flash and Sarah is abducted by Valon who had been watching this whole time. Valon knew Hadyns instincts would be to find the girl again so he abducts her back to his place to lay in wait with the perfect bait to get Hadyn where he wants him. Valon knew Hadyns instincts would be to find the girl again so he abducts her back to his place to lay in wait with the perfect bait to get Hadyn where he wants him; his territory, his home, to mate with his daughter, Sephy, so he can open the gates to take over the world and at last be powerful.
Everyone who knows me knows I love my books with lots of hot sex and passionate encounters. This book didn't lack that; it's basically there since the first few pages. You get m/f and quite a bit of m/m even a little f/f. So I can say that part is all hot. I almost put the book down once or twice cause though I enjoyed the sexual encounters, I didn't see much of a story besides coming to age wolfs who had to learn how to control their urges or help each other. Finally, I saw the story coming together with the evil Valon trying to gain power and using Sarah to gain it by luring Hadyn to the house . Valon's daughter, Sephy, was just as evil if not more so, and if Haydn were to mate with her they would unleash a world of evil upon humans and weres, plus give Valon the power he longed for. Hadyn is hot and you can tell one day he will be a great leader. Sarah is blonde and horny, and when it came to defending her man, she did. Valon and Sephy are pretty awesome evil characters cause you wanted them to get their just rewards in the end. Taylor is sweet and you feel for him in a way. Something I didn't like about Sarah is I don't care how horny I am, if I wake up in a strange house with strange people, even if they tell me I am waiting for the guy I just had the best orgasmic sex with, I would not touch that guys privates or let his daughter go down on me. I would find a way to run like hell and hope to see Hadyn again. Overall for a short I enjoyed it but didn't love it. I would say if you are in it for the smut factor go for it cause the sexual encounters are hot between both M/M and F/M. If you want something deep this may not be the read for you.

Review for Warrior Mine: Retribution by Elliot Deveraux
Title: Warrior Mine: Retribution
Author: Elliot Dev
Description: Angelique Devereaux is a dark legend, once a Chosen Warrior of god, she betrayed her
oaths to love one who was forbidden. Cast out, cursed and scarred, she continues her battle alone. Until a soul as tortured as her own stumbles across her path. Asher Elliot is lost in his own darkness when he first sees the tall warrior known to legend simply as The Slayer. Tortured by the deaths of his wife and children, this grieving warrior is nonetheless drawn to the timeless, cold being he witnesses at work. Like him, she deals in death and her justice is swift, sometimes messy, but always final. He follows her, watching, growing ever more captivated by her, until finally he must reach out to claim what his reawakened heart wants most.
Book Two in the exciting new series WARRIOR MINE. Retributions continues the passionate and ever-changing relationship that is building between Asher Elliot and Angelique Devereaux.
Asher's past has come back to haunt him in a way that threatens to open old wounds just as they've begun to heal. When he is contracted to do a job, he shuts "Angie" out and goes to exact his personal vengeance for the sins committed against those he loved.
Angelique has never been part of humanity, is still struggling to find her way in the midst of love and passion that is alien to her immortal soul. The ties of blood have revealed Asher's pain to her, and she will not allow anyone to hurt him if she is able to stop it.
As the two warriors each set out on the path of retribution, they are once again drawn back to each other. Face to face with Asher, Angelique wonders if he can forgive her, and her beloved male is trying hard to understand her fear of not being good enough for his love.
They have a long way to travel before true understanding will make them whole, will their love be strong enough to keep them together for their journey?
My Thoughts: Angelique and Asher are back in loving bliss. For the first time in what seems like forever they both have a reason to smile. Though shortly Ashers past crashes back into him, bringing him back to the anger and pain Angelique helped dissolve and that does not please her one bit. So she sets about for her own mission and that is to make those who brought him back to the pain pay for it.
Another great short on the insight of two fiercely strong and passionate warriors. Well written and leaves you wanting the next installment right away. Asher has to face his past demons to let go and Angelique loves him so much that her love is to avenge what she knows is a set up. Even though they are both fiercely strong they are both vulnerable in their own ways, but the love and passion for each other is what makes them see a light at the end of the tunnel even if getting to that light will always be a hard road. Once again, only complaint is too short and I am anxiously awaiting the next installment to see where this road will lead.

Review for Warrior: The Claiming by Elliot Deveraux
Title: Warrior: The Claiming
Author : Elliot Deveraux
Description: Angelique Devereaux has walked the earth for thousands of years, always alone - Damned to wage an eternal battle to vanquish evil.
Asher Elliot is an immortal who has loved and lost. He walks in darkness, soul tortured by hate and rage. Like Angelique, he is a warrior.
Their lives are about to change in ways neither could have ever imagined. Chance has put Angelique in Asher's path. Drawn by a compulsion he barely understands, Asher goes to the ancient Keep, to claim the legendary Slayer, or have her end his dark existence...
My Thoughts: You can't fight the pull of seduction and love so fierce you’re willing to give up everything just to experience it. Especially when it makes you feel the most alive you have felt in years.... Ages .... and beyond. Angelique as well as Asher, is an ancient warrior in their own rights. Asher, who has been hiding in the shadows, is drawn to Angelique like no other.. And though she can sense him, she bides her time to see what his move will be. Then one night both fierce warriors in their own right stop fighting the pull and consequences that can come with it should they ever join, and let the flames engulf them .
For a short this book surprised me. The words were evocative and the story intriguing . The passion is so powerful and seductive between the characters you start to forget it is a short. While "the claiming" begins us on the journey of what you would do for love and passion against the future of a bumpy road . My only complaint is that while I enjoyed this short I wanted it to keep going. So I am looking forward to the next installment Warrior : The Retribution and to see what Angelique and Asher had to face and how their love and passion thrive.

Review for Shadow Rising (Dark Dynasties) by Kendra Leigh Castle
Title: Shadow Rising (Dark Dynasties)
Author : Kendra Leigh Castle
Description: Ancient Secrets, Dark Passions...
As one of the Grigori, a noble vampire dynasty shrouded in mystery, Ariane has spent her life hidden away in the desert. Like all of her kind, she is a watcher, fated to observe, forbidden to act. Yet when her best friend, Sammael, vanishes, she defies all rules and flees her safe haven to bring him home.
A shape-shifting assassin for the House of Shadows, Damien Tremaine is hired to locate Sammael. His hunt for the wayward Grigori leads him to Ariane, the rogue vamp who stands between him and his bounty. Damien never lets emotion interfere with his work, but a single touch from the sexy, beguiling vampire shatters his self-control. Drawn together by their common goal, what begins as an alliance of necessity soon becomes one of desire. But when the secret at the dark heart of the Grigori comes to light, Damien and Ariane must make a choice that could bind them eternally...or tear them—and everything they care about—apart.
My Thoughts:
Ariane is part of the Grigori. Grigori's are watchers, but can never intervene. Not many of the other dynasties know much about the Grigori. Ariane's only true friend Samuel went missing and going against the rules of her people and consequences be damned, she flees her sheltered life in the desert to search of him. Now those who do this get classified as a deserter and are not looked kindly upon.
Damien Tremien , world weary well known shape shifting thieving assassin that he is for the house of shadows just got a job he couldn't pass up this pay day. Though after continous run-ins with Ariane, this shade just got a partner who just happens to be a tempting and beautiful Grigori . And well Ariane just may have got more then she imagined on this journey of finding her friend .
This is the third book in the series. I have the first two that I will be reading as soon as I can, and reviewing them as well. This can be read as a stand-alone. Castle has found a wonderful job of making sure new readers don't get lost and helping you understand each dynasty and what they are about. Ariane is a sweet, innocent, and soft spoken leading lady, but underneath all that lays a determined woman who is loyal to those she cares for. Not to mention she is strapped with a big sword and knows how to use it. After all, she is a trained Grigori warrior. What else did you think she was learning in the desert all those years? She is fierce when it comes to fighting and I love a leading lady who is soft where it counts and has a back bone when it's needed.
Damien is your sexy shade who thinks he is incapable of caring for anyone. He has no problem lusting after the ladies, but something about Ariane brings out his protective side. He's always as good as his next pay day, and has a mouth on him that makes me want to have a battle of wits with him. I know many of the things that came out of it had me chuckling and shaking my head. Damien isn't the rogue he thinks he is it just took the right woman to prove it.
You will keep turning the pages to watch the romance grow and the spars between them. You can't help but fall in love with these two. Not to mention the mystery of Samuel and a few others you will come to see. Castle has created a unique world with never a dull moment. I am anxious for the next installment and will say you definitely will want to read this book.
