Guest Post and Giveaway with Terry Spear

Happy New Year from Me to You! By Terry Spear

What do you want in the New Year? Do you make goals?

Okay, here are some of mine. I can’t wait for A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing to come out, March 2012. I’ll be going to town on another huge blog tour again in March, but my goal is to have ALL the blogs done super early. It’s not like I procrastinate, or anything, but sometimes I just can’t figure out one more new thing to say! Or I’m waiting on interview questions that haven’t been sent yet. Or I sign up for a whole new slew of guest posts and I’m trying to catch up. And other stuff, deadlines, work, daughter’s wedding, sometimes just gets in the way. Ever feel that way?

I’ll be judging several published authors’ contests next year again, like I do every year. And for the third year in a row, I’ve entered the RITA. BUT I am not going to worry whether I will be called about finaling in the RITA. I didn’t last year, or the year before, although I must admit I did think about it occasionally. Fantasized about it while I was at work a couple…or more times. But I won’t be keeping my phone at hand, just in case. That gives me this vague hope that when I make the long drive home from work, listening to whatever audio book I’m “reading” at the time, I might just come home to THE CALL. Not that I’ll lose any sleep over it. That would be silly. But still, maybe some year…I will get that much revered call.

I’m working on three new stories, A Highland Wolf Wedding,Cearnach from Heart of the Highland Wolf’s pack, the second jaguar story in the series, and Tom Silver from Destiny of the Wolf pack’s story in Silence of the Wolf, title probably will change and plan to have all of them written this upcoming year. Plus I want to have the next Highland medieval romance done and another fae story. I’ve also been asked to write The Vampire…In My Nightmares, and I want to write the sequel to The Shadow Elf and Blood Moon, two other YA.

Attending my daughter’s wedding, which means my goal is still to find a formal! I have to hurry though. The wedding is in January! This will be the second marriage to the same guy. First was the informal official one, so she could live with himas his lawful wife while she’s taking her internship at the VA hospital in Houston. The second is the fancy one with all the foofaraw. My son started the trend the year before so he could take his wife with him to his AF duty assignment during training, then had the formal wedding in Pensacola, Florida. Such fun!

I’ll be teaching two workshops at the FF&P Conference in New Orleans in March, Happy Hookers and Conflict, Conflict, Conflict! And doing a book signing.

My goal is also to go to the RWA conference next year.

Then in September, I’ll be promoting the new jaguar release. Ikeep offering to help hand-select the jaguar man for the cover of the book, but no one at Sourcebook is biting. I don’t know why not. Seems to me it would be good research. For me.

Of course there are a million and one other things I need to do…like organize my taxes all year long instead of scrambling to figure it out before April 15th!

So what are your New Year’s Goals? Anything special you want to do or have planned?

Terry Spear

Review for Bound By Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

Title: Bound By Darkness

Author: Alexandra Ivy

Description: The Sylvermysts have a reputation as sinister cousins to the fey, and none are more mysterious than Ariyal and his tribe. To save his people from banishment, he faces a new challenge: Jaelyn, an elite vampire warrior sent to capture him. By rights, he should kill her on sight. Yet he cannot bring himself to hurt her—or to resist her…

Jaelyn is stunningly beautiful, utterly lethal—and always alone. Until Ariyal. From their first encounter, she knows that what's between them is more dangerous than simple lust. And as they unite to thwart a terrifying prophecy that will mean the end of his clan and of the world they know, she will risk everything to fulfill her destiny by his side…

My Thoughts: Let me start by saying the “Guardians of Eternity” is one of my favorite series. I discovered this series by Alexandra Ivy by chance a few years ago when I saw “When Darkness Comes” (book one in the series) on the shelf and grabbed it up to give it a chance. Next thing I know I  was ordering all the books and kept buying when I knew the newest one would be out. Each time you wonder will it fall short of the last and for the latest installment I can tell you it sure hasn’t. I will say there is a lot going on in the beginning. First there is Jaelyn, a vampire and trained hunter, who has had a few crucial rules beaten into her such as no intimacy, no feelings and no taking a mate. Next is Ariyal, the prince of the Sylvermist, who was the bad guy when he was introduced in the last book, but this time you see a whole new side of him as one of the leading characters. I loved seeing a lot of the prior characters from the series brought into play, especially the lovable French gargoyle Levet.

“Bound by Darkness” has Jaelyn being sent by the commission to bring back Ariyal, but then her mission changes to only keeping an eye on him. Problem is, Ariyal brings forth feelings she was trained to not have. As hunters are not allowed feelings, Ariyal making her hot and wanting him, infuriates her. Ariyal has always wanted Jaelyn. Despite his want, he is suspicious of her sudden willingness to help him stop a ritual that would bring back the Dark Lord. Suspicious or not though, he can't bring it to himself to get rid of her. So together they embark on a journey to save the world. Along the way Ariyal puts chinks in Jaelyn’s armor that protects where her feelings are hidden.

Jaelyn is the kind of leading lady I love! She is a sarcastic, strong lady, but underneath it all is just a woman with a passionate and vulnerable side. Ariyal turns into quite the leading man. I love how Ivy’s leading men are never Prince Charmings, but show they have flaws. The banter and chemistry sizzles amongst the pages and you start rooting for the couple to overcome all obstacles. I wish there were more scenes with Levet. That is my only complaint. There is something about that little French gargoyle that always brings a smile to my face. Maybe it's because he catches all the ladies hearts, while irritating the males. This book has it all demons, spirits, wizards, trolls, ogres and zombies, Oh my! Ivy also gives you a taste of whats to come with Santiago and Nefri. The peek behind the veil has you wanting to see what will happen and leaves you wishing you could see it now. This Guardian's of Eternity fan will be holding her breath till I get my next fix in the world Ivy has created!

I would also like to thank Alexandra Ivy for providing a ARC for review.

Review for Haunted Heart by Carolyn Rosewood

Title: Haunted Heart
Author: Carolyn Rosewood

Description: All Rowena Sommers wants is a quiet life away from Hollywood gossip and her vicious Oscar-winning ex-boyfriend Brett Fontaine. Her career and reputation in a shambles, thanks to Brett, Rowena returns home to restore her ancestral home and soak up some familiar, hometown sympathy. But having won a twenty-million-dollar defamation suit against Brett hasn’t endeared her to the hometown fans, and the man she’s hired to restore the old home is none other than the ex-jock who used her cruelly in high school to win a bet. And now a paranormal investigator is telling her the place may be haunted.

Van Whitney is no stranger to gossip. He's been struggling to keep his family's restoration business afloat, and when he agrees to restore Rowena's home, he vows to keep their relationship professional. His childhood friend has become a beautiful, sexy woman, but she attracts gossip like flies to honey. When strange things start happening at the house, Van discovers secrets upon secrets, and a plot that may be other than it seems. But his attraction to Rowena might be more dangerous than anything from the past…

My Thoughts: The name “Haunted Heart” fits this story perfectly. Rowena Sommers had left her hometown to escape old hurts and bad memories when she was just out of high school. She only returns to her roots after her ex-boyfriend, who happens to be a movie star, leaves her career and her life in the lime-light in shambles. Rowena wants a normal, quiet life and to be finally recognized  for her own talent, not just because of her ex. So, she takes up in the house left to her by her beloved Aunt Looney. Rowena wants to have the home restored, as she re-establishes herself in her small hometown. Her first day back she gets a huge surprise when she pulls up and sees Van, childhood family friend and the boy she had loved. Van also happens to be one of the memories still haunting her and of all things, is in the restoration business. He too is taken aback, seeing the new client is Rowena, after all these years. I will say the story starts out kind of slow with a lot of background, though personally this didn't bother me. Each bit of detail helps evolve the story as it goes on making it much more than just suspenseful and passionate. The characters fleshed out into three dimensions showing that you can overcome your past and start anew. I loved how Carolyn could take us back in time highlighting what Rowena must have gone through in high school, using  that hindsight to see she could look past those experiences once she learned to let it go and embrace the future with Van. Both Rowena and Van are haunted by past mistakes and hurts, but with trust and love they reach past it. The passion between the characters gets very steamy at times, but the mystery of the house tames it to leave you intrigued and turning the pages to see who is behind the goings on. Personally, the book kept me guessing, though some readers may catch on sooner. Carolyn wrote all the characters so vividly that they came off quite real as if their spirits flowed through the pages themselves. I loved reading this suspenseful romance that kept me on my toes with all kinds of Bumps in the Night. Are you ready to possessed by the spirit of the “Haunted Heart”?

Virtual Tour of "Kiss Me Crazy" by E.B. (Ednah) Walters Review and Giveaway

Review by Lindsey Hutchison

Title: Kiss Me Crazy
Author: E.B. Walters

Description: She's used to putting everyone first—her sister, her friends, her boss. It’s now her turn...

Art conservator, Kara Michaels has decided it’s time to chase her dream—start her own business restoring and framing works of art. She has the skills, the nose for business, and the pent-up frustration from being invisible to the man she wants but can’t have—her boss.

He’s a meticulous planner whose rule book is about to be tossed out the window...

Baron Fitzgerald, a successful art dealer and Kara’s boss, believes in having a strategy and following it without deviation. So when Kara tenders her resignation, he sets out to convince her to stay. Baron soon realizes that falling in love cannot be planned, but the insight comes a little too late for him and Kara

My Thoughts: Ednah Walters has created a wonderful world of romance and passion in “Kiss Me Crazy“. This book had me swooning one minute and butterflies in my tummy the next. Kara has been in love with her boss for a long time, but she fights it. After always putting everyone ahead of herself and her wants, Kara decides to take the next step. She hands in her notice to make her dream of owning her own business come true. Baron has secretly longed for Kara and was on the verge of making a move when Kara dropped the bomb about her resignation. Now Baron will do anything to show her just how much he wants her in every aspect. I loved this book. For some reason I've always been drawn to the stories of falling for the boss. The fact is that Ednah had me falling in love with Baron myself. I was smiling at every turn of the page and my breath was even hitching at moments. This book is number 3 in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. Each of the Fitzgerald crew make an appearance and a l’il rehash of their background is said so a new reader wouldn’t be lost . This book has it all for the pure romantics at heart, passion, intensity, romance and tons of swooning. By the end, you will be wanting the next in the Fitzgerald family right then and there. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for the Slow Burning, Mine Until Dawn (a.k.a. all night long) Fitzgerald clan that can Kiss Me Crazy all they want.

Review for Peppermint Passion by Ann Mayburn

Title: Peppermint Passion
Author: Ann Mayburn
Description: Shyla has dreamt about, lusted after and fallen in love with her bosses over the past year that she has worked for them. With only a few months left before she graduates and earns her teaching degree, she decides to make her move at the company Christmas Party. As if that wasn't nerve racking enough, her place of employment is an exclusive BDSM club and her plans to ensnare her Dominant bosses attention revolves around them bidding on her at the charity submissive auction.

Trent and Jack have been fighting a losing battle to keep their hands off of their beautiful waitress, Shyla, until she no longer works for them. Her gentle spirit and genuinely good heart call to them almost as much as her obvious submissive inclinations. When she surprises them by arriving at their Christmas party dressed like a wet fetish dream, and they learn she plans on being part of the submissive auction, the men quickly decide that the time to show Shyla who she belongs to and who truly loves her has arrived.
My Thoughts: *fans self* “Wow” is tame considering what I was thinking. Ann Mayburn, you Naughty Author! The description says it all, so without giving to much away, Shyla has lusted after her bosses and is now ready to explore that side of herself. The bosses, Trent and Jack, have wanted her for their sub for some time, but held back because she was taken and they weren’t sure she‘d be game. Now that she is no holds bar, they plan to show her so much pleasure, she will never want to be without them. This is a short read, but it’s an incredibly steamy, make you gasp, cross and uncross your legs read. I started wishing I was Shyla, exploring the world of BDSM. Oh what a good sub I would make for doms like Trent and Jack. They can tie me up and serve me on a Christmas platter if they want. You will read this in one sitting, but the whole time you will be biting your lip while your fantasies take you away, at least I did. Please master, may I have another.
For this short sexy read

Review for Big Bad by Sommer Marsden

Title: Big Bad
Author: Sommer Marsden

Description: Lust according to Ruby:

You read those books where they explain it all away. They make it fine with rationalization. But what if I just want to? What if that's my whole reason? My life is not a romance novel. I don’t need justification. I’m a grown woman who knows what she wants.

I want Ellis. And I want Tyler.

And I won’t apologize...

What’s worse than wanting both your best friend who’s a vampire and the just-back-in-town alpha werewolf you find yourself fixated on? Finding out that the werewolf in question wants you, too. But he isn’t too keen on the sharing part.
Oh, and by the way, you’re his dead mate.

Okay, okay, dead is harsh—reincarnated.

What’s worse than that? Realizing that you believe the whole crazy tale of reincarnation. Because it seems to be true.

And yet you still want them both—together. Vampire and werewolf and you in the middle. Stuck between two predators who want you and only you. To complicate it all, you find out that you can have it. With your new/old mate’s blessing. But just one time before he claims you as his.

Are you brave enough to take it? That one shot?

Well...Are you?

My Thoughts: Ruby is friends with a vampire, Tyler. Tyler and Ruby are both sexually attracted to each other though she is honest when she tells Tyler that it would just be sex. Ruby is also interested in Ellis, who just so happens to be a wolf shifter. Quite the dilemma. Ellis, the wolf shifter, knows Ruby is his, but he is being patient, willing to give into one of her fantasies; even if it may not be the best choice. After surrendering to her lust for vampire Tyler, (resulting in some hot, steamy sex and a vampire bite to send her over the edge), she is thrown back to the past in visions. Visions induced when as she blacks out from one of the most amazing orgasms. These visions, without giving too much away, thicken the plot in this sexually charged yet intriguing story. The tale of a girl who wants both the warm and cold man, lots of sexual pleasure from the two, a reincarnation, and a villain who is set out to kill not just for old vengeance, but in hopes of becoming Alpha of the pack. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I found myself pulled into the story, maybe from all the hot sex going on or maybe from me trying to see if the bad guy would get his in the end. I only wish I knew a little more background into the characters. Can you say prequel? Fingers crossed. Putting that wish aside, I would say give this book a chance. That is if you can visualize yourself wanting a vamp and a wolf, plenty of hot sex, and some fighting bad guys action, (and really who can’t). I’m counting on crossed fingers and toes that Sommer Marsden will continue with Tyler's story, since I was hurting with him at a love lost. Spoiler girl moment, I even teared up a bit but I still really want to read Tyler’s story.

SPECIAL EVENT: Deena Remiel's TRINITY and Read for a Cure

United By Books is pleased to let the lovely Deena Remiel take over the page today for such a good and worthy cause!

Learn from the Immortals: Keep Sparks Flying in Your Relationship
At first glance, you might think Immortals have it made. They get to live forever free of disease, free of long-lasting pain, and free to roam over the earth, experiencing all there is to this great world of ours. Yeah, that sounds really great…BUT…
When you are an immortal who is married, “till death do us part” takes on an ominous tone. Since there is no death, Immortals are married FOREVER.  So how do they keep their love alive? How do they keep boredom at bay? Since neither my husband nor I are immortal, I spoke with a married couple who are- Emma and Michael D’Angelo, from my novel, Trinity.  They gave me some great advice on how to keep the spark continually igniting. I've compiled my notes and I present to you now their Immortal Couple's Advice to Long-Lasting Passion.

Suggestion Number 1: Call or text each other on the cell phone, unexpectedly, just to say hello, I love you, and maybe something a bit naughtier. Constantly change the time of the call so your partner cannot predict when it will happen. It enhances the element of surprise and the warm, happy feelings of your partner. You can also leave love notes in their pants pocket or wallet, on the toilet seat, or even in the mist on the mirror in the bathroom.

Suggestion Number 2: Take dance lessons together. There's nothing sexier than being held closely during a Latin dance. Your bodies are so close or touching in all the right spots. You won't want to stop. In fact, you'll want to dance all the way to your bedroom!

Suggestion Number 3: Make sure you have a Date Night at least twice a month. Immortals can be parents as well, and it's hard to find time to be alone together for an extended period of time. If you've got an extended family, or network of friends, use them to watch the kids. Then take turns. It saves money on babysitting. If you can, have the kids sleep over somewhere. Then you get the whole house to yourselves to do... well, whatever turns you on!

Suggestion Number 4: Don't just eat your food, play with it! There is nothing that kindles the slow burn of passion like food. Chocolate syrup and whipped cream are two staples in the D'Angelo household. It's not just for ice cream anymore! They suggest buying paint brushes so that on special Date Nights, you can do art projects on each other's bodies. Then you can "clean up" afterwards. Find out what your Immortal partner's favorite foods are and feast together. Feed each other. Taste each other's food... and each other!
As you can see, there are many ways to keep the fires burning bright, even throughout eternity. Do you have some suggestions for Immortal couples? I'd love to add them to the list. Just comment below and I'll be sure to pass along your secrets to a long, spicy marriage.
Michael and Emma have been gracious enough to let you in on what their spicy lovin’ looks like. So, get a fan and a notepad ready…

{Steamy excerpt…

“So, can I get you a cup of coffee or something?” Emma finally asked, her voice near breathless from the deafening silence that had grown between them.
“Or something,” Michael replied, as he gathered her up in an embrace that took the rest of her breath away. His eyes hypnotized her with their deep oceans of blue and gold. And then, he kissed her. Oh so gently at first, nibbling at her bottom lip, masterfully parting her lips so he could enter and taste her. Then he slowly raised the temperature to blistering.
At first, her arms hung limply at her sides. But as his seduction deepened, she found her footing again, and her hands slid up his arms, caressing and gripping Michael’s back and shoulders. She couldn’t seem to get enough of him as she fought with his tucked-in shirt. And then, she won the battle. Touching his smooth skin, his taut muscles clenched with every brush of her fingers. He lifted her off the floor, never once breaking their kiss, and she was surprised to find herself planted on the countertop.
“Oh God, Emma, do you know what you’ve been doing to me?” he growled. “Driving me crazy, woman. That’s what.” His lips left a feverish trail from her jaw line down her neck. “I need more of you, Emma. So much more.”
Emma took his face into her hands and looked at him, his expression blurred by her own desire. She threw all caution to the wind. “My bedroom, Michael, take me there, now.” She could barely speak anymore, she could barely think. He swung her up in his arms, never taking his focus off of her, and made his way to her bedroom.
He closed the door with his foot, and proceeded to lay her on the bed. Michael stood motionless.
Unwilling to let his uncertainty ruin the moment, Emma rose to her knees and slowly unbuttoned his shirt. What she revealed was every woman’s fantasy, and yet he was here, with eyes and a body only for her. Muscles strained from the sexual tension and showed off their sculpted beauty. Emma couldn’t stop herself. She leisurely ran her hands up and down his hard stomach and chest, teasing his taut nipples.
Michael brought her face up to meet his and ravaged her mouth with a kiss so deadly Emma thought she might never recover. As he eased back, he ripped off her shirt.
***
Emma hadn’t worn a bra, and he’d known that all damn day. But finally, he was going to see and touch and taste what he’d been craving so desperately. I can’t believe I’m finally standing here in front of the most beautiful woman I’ve ever known. Six years! Six years I’ve dreamed of this moment. And now, she wants me, too.
“You’re so beautiful, Emma, so damn beautiful. And I’ve wanted you for so very long.” He reached out to hold her to him, skin to skin. Flames shot through his body from head to toe.
“Make love to me, Michael,” she pleaded and then, merely whispered, “I need you so much it hurts.”
No more words were necessary as he took her then and there. This was no unhurried, rainy Sunday morning kind of lovemaking. It was frantic. It was feral. It was his hands and mouth in a frenetic quest to explore every inch of her, and both of them in a heated battle to become one.
Emma’s reactive body pushed his to the brink of madness. As he reached the climax of their lovemaking, Michael groaned in ecstasy and wings sprouted from his shoulder blades; large, snowy white, iridescent wings that reached from his shoulders down to his feet.
“Oh God, no!” he moaned. He looked at Emma in utter dread and tore away from her before she could say anything. He jumped off the bed, but didn’t know where to go, so he staggered his way to the farthest, darkest corner of the room, turning his back to hide his humiliation…

My Review of Trinity
Title : Trinity (The Brethren Series)
Author: Deena Remiel
Description: One way or another, terror will reign tonight...

School teacher and single mom, Emma Livingston, has been through hell—and back so she thinks. While dealing with the night terrors and active imagination of her five-year old daughter, Hannah, she attempts to lead a normal life. That is, until the demon from those nightmares pays her a visit, too and threatens both of their lives. Desperate, she reaches out for help—and finds Michael waiting.

Michael D’Angelo is known to everyone in Prophet’s Point, Arizona as their loving elementary school principal. But to The Brethren, he is the most powerful Protector. Immortal and angelic does not mean he’s without doubts or fears, as protecting Emma and Hannah from Evil tests his ability to fight his tortured past.

As the Trinity is formed, ancient secrets are revealed and faith is tested. When a prophecy is exposed, Hannah becomes the main target and Emma wonders if a normal life will ever be possible again. Hope is like an anchor, but can a mother, her daughter, and an angel overcome an evil determined to annihilate the world?

Summary: Emma is a single mother to 5 year old Hannah who has been waking up the last six months from nightmares. At least she thought they were nightmares until Hannah told her the evil Agremon who has been trying to get her for his master, Namirha. Emma didn't believe what Hannah was telling her and then she had her own little incident. Michael is there to help her through the incident brought on by Agremon and finally shares what has been going on with Hannah. Once Michael hears this, he tells her he is an Angel. And not just any angel, but a protector. To top it off, Emma and (most especially) Hannah, are very special in the war against evil.Emma, not believing what Michael is telling her, kicks him out and cant believe she trusted him. Then another incident, brought on by Agremon, issues Michael to move in and protect her yet again, making her a believer. Soon the rest of the Brethren show up, and the training to defeat evil begins.

My Thoughts: Deena Remiel paints the picture and you cant help but keep turning the page to see if good will triumph over evil. At one point in the book my phone rang in an intense scene, and I actually jumped. To me, I had been in that scene and Agremon was my enemy. The love and passion growing and forming between Michael and Emma had me smiling, and kept turning the page to get more. The Brethren and Hannah had me cheering out loud. At this stage i'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. By the end of this book, you will know......ANGELS DO EXIST.....AND EVIL BETTER WATCH OUT.

Q1)~ For those who don’t know you. Please tell us a little about yourself?

I’ve been writing romance since the fall of 2008. In 2010 I gave up my day job and started writing full time, and I haven’t looked back. It was the best decision I ever made. My husband and I live in San Francisco, but I’m originally from Germany. I immigrated to the US in 1999. Before that I had lived in London, England. I do miss Europe sometimes, but we go back as much as we can to visit family.

Q2)~ When did you first realize you wanted to become a writer?

Very early on in life, actually. I was about 13 and a big fan of Agatha Christie. I wanted to be just like her and write great mystery novels with quirky characters like Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Unfortunately, I couldn’t really come up with any plots that hadn’t already been done.  In the 90s I tried my hand at screenwriting. I learned a lot from that, particularly how to plot a book and make it fast-paced. But getting a movie made is even more difficult than getting a book published, so in 2008 I re-discovered romance and have never looked back.

Q3)~ Do you have any interesting writing quirks or something you must have with you to start your writing process?

I need absolute quiet to write, no music, no chatter in the background. Finally, I have that: we just moved to a new apartment where I have my own office with a door I can shut. It’s heaven. I also stand a lot at a standing desk, but I do alternate between that and a really comfy recliner where I keep my wireless keyboard on my lap (and my feet up on an ottoman!). Can’t get better than that!

Q4)~ Please share some juicy details about the book or series you are featuring today.

How about a juicy excerpt of A Scent of Greek:

“Do you want to check on whether I put the cases in the right place?” Dio asked, a plan already forming in his mind.“Yes, let me make sure I can find them later.”He followed her into the storeroom and quietly closed the door behind them. He didn’t need an audience. As she walked between the aisles toward the far wall of the room,Dio admired the seductive sway of her hips and the elegant curve of her legs. He knew exactly what he wanted her to do with those long legs. They looked strong and well-toned, and he could fairly feel them wrapping around his hips as he thrust into her.
Despite the coolness in the room, a thin layer of perspiration built on Dio’s forehead and neck. His heart raced and pumped blood to his cock in anticipation of what his brain was planning.

Ariadne stopped in front of the cases and perused them.Dio approached from behind and placed one hand to the side of her shoulder, touching the box behind her. “Did I do all right?” He purposefully lowered his voice, allowing it to sound more seductive than he’d ever spoken to her.

“Y-yes. It’s fine.” Her voice stuttered slightly, attesting to the fact that she was aware of his nearness and maybe even his intention.
“Tell me, baby, have we ever kissed in here?” He placed his hand on her shoulder and turned her to face him.
“N-no.” Her eyes were downcast as if she couldn’t meet his gaze, too afraid of what she’d see: the lust that was boiling over.
He shelved her chin on his palm and tilted her face up.“Why not?”
“We … we … I don’t know.” Her eyes skidded past him as if searching for an escape. There would be none.
“We’ll have to remedy that.” Without haste, he dropped his head to hers. “We do kiss, don’t we?”
“Y-yes.”
He felt a surge of power at her answer. “Good. Because I have the feeling that I like kissing you. And I’m a little starved for a kiss right now.” Then he crossed the remaining distance between them and brushed his lips to hers in a feather-light touch.
Her breath hitched at the contact, confirming that she was physically attracted to him. He would use this knowledge to free her from the stupid notion of practicing abstinence. In a few minutes, he’d have her panting for release.
Dio slid his hand to the back of her neck and slanted his head, sliding his lips over hers once more. His thigh brushed against her hip, the contact sending a flame of white heat through his groin. Of its own volition, his other thigh nudged between her legs to press against her center.
A sigh escaped her mouth and bounced against his lips. He parted his lips to drink in her scent before pulling her upper lip into his mouth. Slowly, he slid his tongue over the soft flesh and felt her tremble in response.
“Easy, baby,” he cooed and repeated his action.
When Ariadne parted her lips a moment later to take in a breath, Dio pressed his lips against her and allowed his tongue to glide into her. First slowly and with measured strokes, he explored her sweet cavern, tasting, touching, and caressing. An involuntary groan burst from his chest. By the gods, he enjoyed kissing her even more than he thought was humanly possible. As he pressed her against the cases at her back, he intensified his kiss and let all ideas of a slow seduction fly into the wind.
Instead, he captured her, allowing her no reprieve, and issued his demand. With determined strokes, he slid against her tongue, initiating a passionate dance, one she answered without hesitation. This wasn’t the kiss of a woman who didn’t know carnal pleasures. The kiss she shared with him was passionate and all-consuming, and the sounds coming from her body, the soft moans and sighs issued from her chest, were not those of a shy virgin.
Dio ground his hips into her, letting one hand travel down her torso. As he caressed the outside of her breast with his thumb, Ariadne’s arms went around his neck, one hand burying itself in his hair. He relished the feeling of her fingers digging into his scalp to hold him closer to her.
Encouraged by her reaction, he moved his hand over her breast, feeling the outline of her bra. The heat under his palm burned into his skin, but he needed more. Before she had a chance to stop him, had she intended to, he pulled her blouse out of the waistband of her skirt and tunneled underneath it. His fingertips met naked skin, soft and warm.
He moved his hand upwards, connecting with the underwire of her bra before he slid over the gauzy fabric and found the hard peak that had formed there. When his fingers brushed over it, a strangled moan issued from her lips together with a protest. “Stop.”
But the word was so soft and accompanied by a thrust of her hips against his that he couldn’t take the demand seriously. He could already smell her arousal, the sweet scent drifting into his nostrils, turning his entire body into a single-minded machine wanting only one thing: release.
Shh, baby,” he whispered against her lips, briefly interrupting the kiss. But a moment later, he was back, taking her lips more fiercely so she wouldn’t be able to think of resistance.
His hand slid under the fabric of her bra and captured the ripe peak. Her flesh was firm and warm and more responsive than he’d dreamed. As he kneaded the globe that fit his hand perfectly, his cock turned into a rod so hard it could have been used as a crowbar. The charges of heat and energy racing through his body made his skin perspire and his heart beat in a frantic rhythm. His breathing was as labored as if he’d been running a Marathon, but he couldn’t let that deter him from his goal. He had to have Ariadne, now, here. No matter what. Standing up, pressed against cases of wine, he’d fuck her until she admitted freely that abstinence had been a silly idea. And then he’d take her home and make love to her properly like a fiancé should.
Dio ripped his mouth from hers at the same time as he gripped the bottom of her blouse and pushed it upwards, exposing one breast. Then he pushed the bra aside, freeing one beautiful tit and dropping his lips to it. Capturing the hard nipple in his mouth, he sucked it.
Ariadne’s head dropped against the cases as she let out a surprised gasp. But he wasn’t about to give her a chance to pull back. As he sucked greedily and teased the nipple with his tongue, his hand went to her thigh. He found the seam of her swinging summer skirt and slid underneath it, moving his hand upwards toward the ultimate prize.
She wore no pantyhose, leaving her thighs bare to his touch. He caressed the soft skin and moved inwards, sliding his hand between her legs, which she so obligingly parted wider. When his fingers connected with her panties, he realized that they were already soaked.
Her nipple popped out of his mouth. “Oh, baby!” Did she want him as much as he wanted her? Dio sucked her breast back into his mouth and slid one finger along the outside of her panties. The heat that greeted him was almost unbearable in its intensity. Once he buried his cock in her, he’d flare up like a single sheet of paper carelessly thrown into the fire, burning out just as quickly.
But not even that knowledge could make him slow down. He was past the moment of no-return, unable to control his urges any longer. Nothing could stop him from makingAriadne his now. Her response to him was unmistakable: she was aroused by his touch and wanted more. He wasn’t going to deny her, and he for sure wasn’t going to deny himself.
Dio pushed her panties lower and slid into them, passing the nest of curls until he felt the warmth and wetness that oozed from her core. His finger rubbed against her moist entrance, then pulled further up to find her clit. He pressed against it with his dew-covered digit and heard her moan. In a few minutes, he’d breach her delicious portal and slide home.

Q5)~ What made you choose the Greek route for this series?

I love Greek mythology. If people really look, they’ll see it’s all around us. Many books and movies are based on Greek mythology. But when I tried to find some Greek God romances, I only found a handful of books, and most weren’t particularly good. So, I decided to write my own. I have a couple of Greek mythology books and looked through them to find a Greek god who wasn’t that well known to the modern world, so that I wouldn’t get all those purists telling me, well, Triton didn’t do that, and he didn’t do this, etc. I wanted some freedom in what kind of story I could spin around him. Sophia was a natural choice, strong yet vulnerable because of her blindness.
For the second book I chose Dionysus, the god of wine and ecstasy, and this time he’s the vulnerable one, because he loses his memory (thanks to his meddling stepmother Hera!), and doesn’t know he’s a god. It teaches him humility.

Q6)~ Was there a character you enjoyed writing the most?

In my Out of Olympus series, it’s definitely Dionysus. He’s the epitome of a bad boy, and those are just the most fun guys to write. Also, he’s a total hunk, and a bit full of himself. I really enjoyed taking him down a notch. You’ll see.

Q7)~ What can readers expect next from you?

My latest book, Zane’s Redemption, which is book #5 in theScanguards Vampires series, will be out around November 5th – 10th. It’s about a hard-ass vampire bodyguard who has a troubled past. I’ve brought you the blurb for it:

The last thing vampire bodyguard Zane wants to do is to guard a hybrid, a half-vampire, half-human, whose fatherwants to keep her a virgin. Known for his violent temper and callous lack of compassion, Zane’s out-of-control rage, born of the cruelty he suffered during the Holocaust, drives him tofocus only on revenge. Trying to find the last of his torturers is his only goal in life.
Portia is a young hybrid with a serious dilemma: in a few weeks, her body will be set in its final vampire form. If she is to avoid having to live out her immortal life as a virgin, she must find a lover in that short time—something her father hires Zane to prevent.
The moment Portia and Zane meet, rules begin to bend, and a forbidden attraction bursts into flames hotter than the hell of Zane’s past. But that past threatens to pull them apart unless they can overcome their prejudice, forsake hate for love, and revenge for forgiveness.

There’ll be also more books in the Out of Olympus series, with Hermes’ book most likely being the next. I also need to get back to the Venice Vampyr series and write another book for it. 2012 is going to be a busy year again.
