Review for When A Mullo Loves A Woman

Title: When A Mullo Loves A Woman
Author: Joanne Kenrick

Description: She thought the mullo was just a myth...she was dead wrong.

Adam Flint's Gypsy visions always guide him to those who need his paranormal gifts. He gets more than he bargained for in Pearl Kizzy, a beautiful spitfire from Liverpool. Adam knows that to save Pearl, he must help her accept her own Gypsy heritage.

Although Adam and Pearl fight their burning attraction for one another, a night of passion sparks memories of their treacherous former lives. Unable to face the loss of Pearl in this century, Adam scrambles for distance from the love of his life. A rejected Pearl falls into the arms of a Mullo - a gypsy vampire - who lays claim to her heart, and her life.

To survive, Adam and Pearl must accept their tragic past, and find a way to kill the undead.

Summary: Pearl runs into Adam in the beginning of the book only she thinks he is some crazed stalker killer. Pearl cant get over the fact in that  she feels instant attraction to this guy who she thought was going to do her harm. Adam had tracked Pearl down to help her find her Gypsy heritage. In the process he is fighting his feelings for her. Pearl is supposed to meet up for a date with Evan who she has liked for a while, that is, before she seen Adam. Upon leaving a bookstore, after Evan stood her up, a necklace mysteriously appears around her neck. She doesn't know where the necklace came from, and even though she leaves it home, it still winds up on her neck. The necklace is part of her legacy and there is a story to why it keeps appearing bout her neck. Slowly, with the help of her friends and Adam, her legacy comes to light, and the story of everything comes into focus. Adam and Pearl wind up having a night of passion but he leaves the next day. Evan shows up and tries to win her over but Pearl is madly in love with Adam. Soon the prophecy of the Legacy is unraveled once Evan tells who he is and his part in it. The triangle of the legacy is complete and we see how it plays out.

My Thoughts:Joanne Kenrick a breakout author with this book, and had me hooked from the beginning. Pearl had me laughing throughout most the book. I could so see myself hanging out with her. The slow build up of passion between Pearl and Adam had me wanting to scream one minute then grinning from ear to ear the next. The feelings they possess for each other is so pronounced throughout the book you can just feel it. I would say this book was enthralling with some choice villains, a secret family legacy, and true love being reborn. It had some toe curling moments that had me turning the pages begging for more .  If this book wasn't on your list before, i would put it on your list now. You get intrigue, suspense, and romance all wrapped into one book. I personally can't wait to see what is next, and will be on the look out to see more of Pearl and Adam, along with the other characters i have grown fond of in the future

Review for Wayward Soul

Title: Wayward Soul
Author: Kim Bowman

Description: When Zanna Seoul accidentally causes the death of a fellow spirit guide’s charge while trying to save the life of the man she loves, she is stripped of her position and banished to Earth to die. In the spirit world, one doesn’t mess with what’s written.

With Zanna no longer guiding him and his memory of her erased, Owen Nash is left wide open as the target of the vengeful spirit guide who feels he’s been wronged. A guide who also happens to be a werewolf. Once on Earth, Zanna refuses to stand by and watch Owen die, so she intervenes again, setting off a chain of events that could mean death for all of them if she doesn’t go back and undo the mess she’s made. Can Zanna succeed before the werewolf does?

Summary: Zanna is a spirit guide to Owen meant to help him along his way through his life chart. Only, she falls for her charge, and winds up messing with the order of his chart where he lives and throws off a fellow spirit guide's charge who is a murderer. So the sentry strips her of her immortality and sends her back, only the other guide is not forgiving and a werewolf. So he decides to carry out the rest of his now dead charges murders, including still trying to kill Owen. Zanna isnt having it, and even though she is human, she is trying to save them all. Only then does the other guide go for Owens weakness, his son.

My Thoughts:Kim Bowman is a new author to me. When i first started to read the story, I wasn't sure I was going to completely like it. Then it hooked me in the first few sentences and i was amazed at how much i wanted to get to the next page to see what happened next. I loved Zanna. She is what every heroine i love to read should be, she's strong and fights for what she  loves and feels is right. Owen is a good, strong leading man written just right for Zanna. I found myself loving each word, growling in irritation at the werewolf who i kept hoping they would kill, and cheering in happiness at the end. I will definitely be looking for more books or short stories by Bowman in the future

Review for Forever Freed

Title: Forever Freed
Author: Laura Kaye

Description: A heart can break, even one that no longer beats.

I stalk my new neighbors, a single mother and her child, drawn by the irresistible scent of their joy and love. I crave their blood, starved for some healing respite from my ancient grief. Now to lure them into my grasp.

But they surprise me. Little Olivia accepts me without fear or reservation--talking, smiling, offering innocent affection that tugs at my long-lost humanity. Her mother, Samantha, seeks me out when she should stay away, offering sweet friendship, and calling to the forgotten man within me. They lure me instead.

Ah, Dio
, Lucien, run and spare them while you can...

Summary: Lucian has been guilt ridden for decades over the death of his wife and child. One trip to the hospital to collect some blood, and an encounter with a lovely little girl named Olivia (Ollie), who looked straight at him not with fear but with curiosity, amusement and affection, had Lucian craving more of the goodness of her feelings . A few days later, upon returning to the hospital, he ran into feelings of pure bliss and followed them till they led him to the beautiful woman whose feelings had reached out and wrapped around him. He craved more, so much so that he found out where she lived then bought a house near her just so he can feel those feelings she projected on a regular basis. Lucian is an empathic vampire, and Samantha has become his newest prey . Lucian planned to lure Samantha to his house and drain her to take her feelings into him. Ollie had gotten to him and he vowed to protect her. Lucian then realizes that Samantha is Ollie's mother. The feelings between Lucian and Samantha build, and soon he went from wanting to kill her, to knowing he loved her and to do that would hurt him so much worse. Word got back of his relationship with her to another vampire who had always been jealous and resentful of him, and he goes after Samantha. Lucian saves Samantha, evoking the wrath of  the vampire leader of Detroit who is also the father of the vampire that died at Lucian's hands saving her.

My Thoughts: Laura Kaye grips you in the first few pages of the book. Her words flow, and soon you're in that world feeling Lucian's war and pain. You're also feeling the love and building affection between all the characters. You cant help but grow a fondness for Ollie. The passion between Samantha and Lucian is slow to build, but is worth the wait. When it arrives, it's so explosive . By the middle of the book I didn't want to put it down to go to sleep. At the end I was tearing up cause I had connected so much with the characters. This book was well written and is definitely a book to read.

Samson's Lovely Mortal Review

Samson's Lovely Mortal by Tina Folsom

Product Description via Amazon.com
Erotic Paranormal Vampire Romance

** Please do not read if you're easily offended by explicit sex scenes **Vampire bachelor Samson can't get it up anymore. Not even his shrink can help him. That changes when the lovely mortal auditor Delilah tumbles into his arms after a seemingly random attack. Suddenly there's nothing wrong with his hydraulics - that is, as long as Delilah is the woman in his arms. His scruples about taking Delilah to bed vanish when his shrink suggests it's the only way to cure his problem. Thinking all he needs is one night with her, Samson indulges in a night of pleasure and passion. However, another attack on Delilah and a dead body later, and Samson has his hands full: not only with trying to hide the fact he's a vampire, but also with finding out what secrets Delilah harbors for somebody to want her harm. 90,000 words / graphic sex/ not for the faint of heart

Review: I will preface that this is not my typical genre of book. The author is not kidding when she warns of explicit sex scenes, as evident by the first line of the book. Under non-experimental conditions, I would have closed the book and moved on to something else. I admit to being a prude about certain vernaculars and “hard, thrusting cocks” never got me hot and bothered. But instead I continued, opting to give my typical three chapter test, {capture my attention by the end of the third chapter or be resigned to the incomplete stack}, and I am glad I did. Despite my objections to certain terms, this book is funny, charming, clever, and sensual. The sex scenes are not porn, but instead are both tantalizing and enticing. There is a tenderness that flows off the page and a delightful eroticism, in lieu of my above stated objections, that could steam up a mirror in no time. The mystery aspect was rather easy for me, but I am also the person who figures out 'Who Dunnit' in the first fifteen minutes of any crime drama, so I would not say it is blatantly obvious. Samson and Delilah are engaging, smoldering, and funny characters that you develop an attachment to very early in the book. I would definitely recommend this read. I hope to read the other volumes of the ScanGuards very shortly.

Review for Sinful Intentions

Title: Sinfull Intentions
Author: Amy Redwood

Description: A jilted bride, a wolfishly sexy stranger, one sinful attraction under New Zealand’s sun. When Katherine finds out her fiancé cheated on her, her heart is bruised. With a mission to get her life back on track, she takes the first flight to Auckland, New Zealand. And bumps heads with a sexy stranger. Their attraction is instant, powerful and undeniable. Taking a vacation from being a good girl, she succumbs to this sinful stranger who pushes the limits of her sexual needs as he explores every inch of her body. No strings of course. Trent seduces her…in a bed, at the beach, in a truck, against the wall…until the wolf within him lifts its head and pays attention. Suddenly, after a tiny bite, it’s everything but no-strings.

Summary: Katherine sees the cheating ways of her fiance and decides to hop a plane to Auckland. When she arrives, she is tired, and wants to get to her hotel but runs into a handsome stranger while arguing over a cab. Trent likes to get a rise out of her, but there is sexual chemistry from the first words spoken between them. What Katherine doesn't know is Trent is a wolf and he is taking the summer off for a few last flings before he intends to find his perfect mate.  They stop fighting the chemistry and keep acting on it, having the most amazing sex they both ever had . At first it was revenge sex for Katherine, but after the first time, it was because it felt so right. Trent cant understand why he is so attracted to her. Then one fateful day, after some really hot sex on the beach, he understands why.

My Thoughts: Amy Redwood is an author I hadn't read before. I have a feeling I am definitely going to be looking into more of her work. Katherine and Trent were so steamy at times between their urge to get rises out of each other, to the steaming up the sheets. Or in this case a truck, sand, bed, even a wall (oh my!) Both characters had a personality all of their own. There were times I didn't want to put the book down I wanted the next smart remark and definitely the next steamy sex scene. I will say this, if your not one for liking a lot of sex in your books, then this isn't for you. Amy Redwood has gained another fan of her work in me, and I enjoyed this book.

Review for The Postman Always Comes Twice

Title: The Postman Always Comes Twice
Author: Paige Tyler
Description: This postman is carrying one hell of a package.

Charisma Harlow has been lusting after her hunky postman Travis Walker ever since he started delivering her mail a few months ago. In fact, she’s so hot for him, she finds herself ordering things online so he'll show up more often. When her subtle flirting doesn't do the trick, she decides to finally get serious and seduce him outright. She orders the heaviest thing she can find so he'll have to bring it inside her apartment, then greets him at the door in nothing but a short, sexy robe when he shows up.

Travis gets the message and spends his lunch hour proving he really knows how to deliver—in the bedroom.
Summary: Charisma has been lusting after her super hunky postman Travis since he began delivering her mail. No matter how much she flirts, he isn't making a move, so she keeps ordering stuff just to see him. Finally, she steps up her game and orders a package big enough to get him to enter in her apartment while placing it in her office. Travis has been hot for Charisma as well, so he just couldn't pass up the invitation to help her "test out" a vibrator he had seen after putting the newest package down.
My Thoughts: Paige Tyler sure made me wish I had a super hunky postman. The characters were funny with some quips here and there. The main focus is finally getting what they both want, a  whole lot of steaming sex. This read was one definitely worthy of steamy up anyone's imagination and I had to fan myself a time or two to cool down. A super sexy short read that has your pages burning with each turn of the page.

He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine our the same, and Linton's is as different as a moonbeam from lightning, or frost from fire ~ Wuthering Heights
"Did we have sex?" he asked directly.
For about two minutes, this might actually be fun. "Eric," I said, "we had sex in every position I could imagine, and some I couldn’t. We had sex in every room in my house, and we had sex outdoors. You told me it was the best you’d ever had." (At the time he couldn’t recall all the sex he’d ever had. But he’d paid me a compliment.) "Too bad you can’t remember it," I concluded with a modest smile.
Eric looked like I’d hit him in the forehead with a mallet. For all of thirty seconds his reaction was completely gratifying."

Review for Fairy Casanova

Title : Fairy Casanova
Author: Gracen Miller
Description: Sadie has hit rock bottom. A high-powered attorney on the fast-track to creating a name, she bet everything on one case and lost big. Bankrupt, with her professional reputation ruined, and her fiancé yachting about Aruba with a hot babe, she's desperate for a break from reality. She arranges a one-nighter with a complete stranger through Madame Evangeline's high-end dating service, 1NightStand. A fairy isn't what she expected to hook-up with, but how can she be disappointed when royalty turns into the only king of sex she'll ever want?

In less than a week, Jace is about to become king of the fairies, but he's enamored with humans. Before his coronation, he wants to fulfill his sexual fantasies in the human realm. With a limited timeline, he schedules a liaison with a stranger through 1NightStand.com. Sadie intrigues him with her competing reserved and salacious vibes. After a night of stellar sex, Jace offers Sadie a permanent place in his life as his queen. Will she forfeit her life in the human realm to accept his offer?
Summary: Whats a girl to do after a month of everything going wrong? Well the answer came so clear to Sadie after seeing a note on her assistants desk, which turned out to be a site that offers one night stands. As she gets to the hotel, she is nervous, then her date arrives. Sadie is confused at first cause he doesnt match the requirements she'd selected, but also completely responsive to him at the same time. Jace has always had a thing for humans, but in a week he will have to let it go and become the king of the fairies. So why not have one last hoorah before he can no longer feel a human's touch? Jace tells Sadie he is a fairy. She thinks he's gone off the deep end till he proves it. Sadie draws him like no other. Within minutes of her oh so responsive reactions to his ministrations of pleasure, he feels a deeper connection, that of a mate.
My Thoughts: Gracen Miller has one smokin hot sexy read here. I have to say, i was wishing i knew a fairy man just from reading this short story. Give me a guy with wings any day, or maybe i can attach some to a guy. Not only was Gracen's story sexy, but there was also some humor there, and you can relate to the main character. After all, who hasn't had a bad week or month? I have to say, this was one steamy ride I did not want to get off. And if there are any fairy men, please find me *winks*  I'm definitely looking forward to more of  Miller's work. This is one read you will want to pick up and make sure you read it at night.

Review for The Rake And The Recluse

Title: The Rake And The Recluse
Author: Jenn LeBlanc

Description:

Francine Larrabee woke up on the wrong side of the century. She was fairly certain she went to sleep in her own comfy bed, but she doesn't quite seem to be there now. Only adding to her problems is that she has no voice, is constantly being glowered at by a large, stunning man who is obsessed with propriety, and she is apparently betrothed to a horrid little man, determined to ruin her, and any other girls that get in his way.

Lord Peregrine Trumbull is a rake of the worst order. As the spare to the heir he went off to the Royal Navy then returned to conquer the young ladies of London. With never a care in the world save his brothers survival (which allows his freedom)

Gideon Alrick Trumbull, 10th Duke of Roxleigh, took the helm of his father's Dukedom much sooner than expected. Now with the weight of his responsibilities heavy on his shoulders, he needs an heir. Unfortunately this first requires that he charm a suitable woman to marriage.

Summary: One minute Francine was in a taxi on her way to an important presentation staring down at a photo, then the next she falls in front of startled horses and before an even more startled Duke. Roxleigh, also known as Gideon holds her close and brings her to his estate, and has a doctor tend to her injuries. When she comes to, she is in a proper bad mood and lets rants run free to his Grace, the Duke. In the process, her throat injury flares up causing her to have no voice. Thank God she knows sign language to communicate. No one has ever done that to him and in turn his interests are piqued and he cant get the feel of her or scent of her out of his head. What they didn't know, was when this occurred, she had been running from the horrid little man, Hepplewort. The man she was betrothed to, thanks to her parents, who sold her to him 10 years before but had to wait till she came of age. As the feeling and connection between Francine and Gideon, the rules of propriety must be taken into account, even if they're misplaced at times and passions flare. The Larrabee's set out to find their daughter, and once found, reclaim her to return her to her betrothed Hepplewort. Gideon is about to offer a solution to keep Francine with him but would ruin him. Younger brother and Viscount Perry step in and takes on the responsibility so his brothers name is not left in ruins. After All, as a rake, his is already questionable. They enter in a contract with the Larrabees and must break the news to Hepplewort that he is no longer betrothed. In which case Hepplewort is not happy at all. Upon learning this, he goes to a ball and interrupts the night when the Duke announces that he is now the betrothed to Francine. Hepplewort wont go soundly and winds up taking her. The Duke sets out to get back the love of his life, even if that means having to throw propriety out and ruin her.

My Thoughts: Jenn LeBlanc is a new author to me. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book. As the feelings and passion grew i held my breath in anticipation cause i knew they were meant to be. I rejoiced for the characters when they dealt  with Hepplewort. There were also times when I laughed out loud. I haven't read a book like this before but I can tell you that Jenn LeBlanc has been put on my favorite authors list. And I cant wait to see what's next. I'm hoping there is a book for the ever elusive rake Perry cause not only did Francine and Gideon steal my heart but so did he. Depending on how you get this book in the paperback there are pictures through out it that depicts the scenes she is writing and they fit so beautifully. The book was lovely. I enjoyed it thoroughly
