Review for No Dogs Allowed by Nicole Hicks

Title: No Dog's Allowed (1 Night Stand Series)
Author: Nicole Hicks

Description: Kenya is a cat on a mission. Go to her job interview in fabulous Las Vegas and manage to wrangle in a vacation. Shouldn’t be too hard to do in Sin City. She hadn’t counted on a hotel full of dogs giving her sneezing fits anytime she leaves her room. How can she get in relaxation, or even meet a guy when every one she encounters brings on an allergy attack?

Desperate and blotchy, she decides to try 1Night Stand. Maybe Madame Eve can set her up with a man who will knock her socks off before she knocks him off his feet? Or at least one she can date without taking a Benadryl.

Kenya finds herself blown away, in a different way, by handsome, charming, explosively sexy Raphael. But they are worse than apples and oranges—they are cat and dog, a huge problem any day of the week, even if she wasn’t allergic to his type

My Thoughts: Kenya goes for a job interview in Vegas only to find the place over-run by mangy, flea bag mutts of all varieties . One night (and a sneeze attack encounter) with one, helps her out by providing a card for 1Nightstand. You have to wonder what Madam Eve has up her sleeve to help this poor kitty. After a suggestion of a drink before the date, Kenya drinks a Kitten’s Delight. Little does she know, the guy she ran into on her way to the date WAS her date. Okay, so I state this all the time, I love the 1 Night Stand series . I loved the cheeky sense of humor Kenya, but also her sensual side. Raphael is sweet, yet a bit insecure, until he sees she doesn't mind his revelation and still wants to jump his bones. I was reading it at work and there was one part that had me fanning myself. They are so hot in the way they play with each other. You wonder during the foreplay if the sex will be just as explosive and it is. Nicole Hicks has definitely not let me down with this newest addition to the 1 Night Stand series.I would definitely recommend this short cheeky, sexy, with a hint of sweet read. Hicks had me begging for more like a good, little girl asking for an extra treat.

Review for Snows Heat

Title: Snows Heat
Author:Nicole Hicks
Description:
When your husband declares you aren't enough after ten years, don't get mad… Get a Bic and start a bonfire!
When Sabrina’s husband decides to move on to greener, and freer pastures, she knows she has to move on herself. Wounded and alone, she escapes to a friend’s cabin to think about her future…and burn her past. Literally.
Can she rise from the ashes of her marriage a new woman, or did she lose too much trying to salvage an illusion? Dealing with the heartache of her new reality, she meets a mystery man in the backwoods. One that makes her burn with desire.
Once just a soldier, now Travis is something…more. His last tour changed him in more ways than one. Can he come to terms with what he is, while dealing with the mixture of lust and possessiveness Bree brings out in him? Or is her past too much for him to handle?

Summary: After  going through a divorce from a cheating husband, Bree decides to get away from it all to clear her head and find herself . Her reason for this was to let go of her past and make it better for her children when she returned. Travis, who once was a soldier, came up to the woods to be away from people, sees her, and thinks she is poaching on his territory. This was his place to deal with everything that had happened on his last deployment that still haunted him and the strange things happening to him from the animal attack.  Travis goes to warn Bree of a big cat in the area, but that doesn't scare her enough to leave. Soon she is starting up a bonfire to rid her of all things past to look to her future. Travis sees this and goes to her, not wanting Bree to be alone during this time. While
comforting Bree, watching the past turn to ash, gun shots ring out in the distance and Travis goes to check it out, placing a scorching kiss on her before he leaves. Soon, his leopard side as well as his human side decide she is all the woman he needs. And this kitty likes cougars and the cream this cougar can give him.

My thoughts: Nicole Hicks is a break out author, but this short story had me from the beginning. It had me feeling the pain and heartache in the beginning as well as the rising passion as Travis and Bree kissed. When they finally let their passions ignite, and their bodies talk, I was seeing fireworks in that connection. My only complaint is that it was a short story, and left me wanting more when it finally came to an end. Nicole did a wonderful job on a short story. I hope to see more of her stories in the future.
